[MIN - NOP - LAL - NOP] Murray to MIN, Randle to LAL
MIN trades: Julius Randle, Rob Dillingham, 2025 DET 1st (1-13 in 2025, 1-11 in 2026 and 1-9 in 2027; otherwise 2027 2nd)
in: DeJounte Murray, Jalen Hood-Schifino, Christian Wood
I don't know that Randle is the *best* fit at point guard for Minnesota, but I think he is good enough and gives them a legitimate 3rd option next to Edwards (and they can pray that Reid scales up). This basically becomes Towns + 2031 MIN 1st for Murray + DDV which isn't the best, but it does make navigating the new cap structure while still having a good team around Edwards more reasonable.
NOP trades: DeJounte Murray, Daniel Theis, Karlo Matkovic, Antonio Reeves
in: D'Angelo Russell, Gabe Vincent, Rob Dillingham, 2025 DET 1st (1-13 in 2025, 1-11 in 2026 and 1-9 in 2027; otherwise 2027 2nd), 2028 LAL 1st (swap, NOP receives higher of NOP/LAL 1st 1-2 protected)
New Orleans gets some legitimate assets to replace what they sent out for Murray and pivot to a rebuild. The Pistons pick seems like it will convey in 2026, Dillingham was a recent lottery pick, and the swap is some marginal value on top. Russell is good enough to keep the team functional but then expires, helping to clear up their capsheet.
LAL trades: D'Angelo Russell, Gabe Vincent, Jalen Hood-Schifino, Max Christie, Christian Wood, 2025 LAC 2nd, 2028 LAL 1st (swap, NOP receives higher of NOP/LAL 1st 1-2 protected)
in: Julius Randle, Vasilje Micic, Karlo Matkovic, Antonio Reeves
The Lakers get a legitimate 2nd/3rd option at the cost of a pick swap. They also add a reasonable point guard to their rotation in Micic, and Reeves looks like a reasonable third string shooter for them.
CHA trades: Vasilje Micic
in: Max Christie, Daniel Theis, 2025 LAC 2nd
Charlotte swaps Micic for a reasonably young 2/3 and a second for absorbing Theis. It isn't sexy, but it turns someone who isn't in their future to someone who could be.

I am only going to address this from the wolves side. Dillingham cost us a 2031 first and a top 1 protected swap in 2030. This deal probably is the best the Wolves could do with Randle, but I agree it represents a bad return for KAT. I think the Wolves probably take it, but might want some minor tweaks. I think PJ dozier goes out, I doubt we take back JHS, (the roster spot lets us go get someone we want at either PG, PF, or C, and I think we would want at least 1 or 2 2nds back.

Wolves in 2nd apron, can't aggregate in a trade. So Randle + Dillingham (or any other player) is an illegal trade proposal.

Help me out here (this is an honest question,) but doesn’t aggregation only occur when the incoming player exceeds the money of the outgoing players? If Randle for Murray is legal, then why can’t a separate trade of Dillingham for Wood also be made?

Lakers don't need Randle.

Seem like LAL bidding against themselves for such a poor fit next to LeBron and AD.
Pelicans getting 16 million in expiring , pick swap, first round pick and 8th round pick for Murray? That’s more than the hawks got for him.

Murray makes less than Randle, JHS makes less than Dillingham, Wood is a minimum and doesn't increase their salary, I think it all works because there is no aggregating, but if they need to send JHS to another team that's easy enough.

Maybe to make this all work NO would do Ingram for Randle if LAL sweetened the pot slightly? Only issue is that I am positive Randle will opt in. The consensus seems to be that he won't, but I don't see a team exceeding his current contract.

Why would the Wolves want Ingram? We need a PG or C, not another slim reaper wing. Ingram is demanding an overpay, and while Randle might want one, he still has another year with his option to wait it out. If Murray isn’t coming back for Randle I doubt the Wolves and Pels have anything to do with each other this trade season.
P.S a few teams might have the cap space to pay Randle what he wants, but just because they can, doesn’t mean they will. Who wants to pay him. 40+ when he is really worth 30 or less?

Ingram would go to LA and Randle to NOP, rest of the deal would be the same, should have clarified.

I could see LAL adding value to get Ingram. Assuming he returns this season as expected

No chance LA sends that much for Randle.
Ingram, sure.
