Re: 2024-25 Regular Season Thread Vol. 2
If hypothetically Hou were open for business and this offer were on the table and it was of the ‘take it or leave it’ variety, Mia would almost have to take it.
That said, I don’t think Hou would put that many chips in
Also, if I’m Mia, I’m targeting Sheppard more than anything else. Need a young on-ball guy who is good enough to keep Herro off the ball.

Makes zero sense for the Heat to take on this contract if they are looking to reset the books a bit by not paying Jimmy. Might as well just pay Jimmy if this wasn’t the case. Beal will be making 57 million in two years lol.

We are 12 million into the tax with an est current bill at 21 million. Houston is by far the best trading partner

Stevens will definitely get some burn. While it’s a tough situation about Dru getting injured, it really benefitted the Heat that they did not sign him to a standard contract yet. Last thing we needed this year was another dead roster spot used up on an injured guy

The 2nd apron issues forced them to wait till near the deadline to sign someone to get a better prorate on the contract. They are working down to the penny lol. We do have enough to fill out the last roster spot around buyout time.

Really hope the Spurs get in on this. Watching them against the Knicks yesterday thinking that Wemby and Butler could do some serious damage and with many of there surrounding pieces they currently have. Pop is coming towards the end too so why not try and see if Butler can elevate them to higher levels.

So the cap crunch benefitted the team for once

Re: 2024-25 Regular Season Thread Vol. 2
Looking at the Warriors situation I don’t think Jimmy makes sense there either at least future money wise. I don’t see them maxing Jimmy out and getting their books upside down again after they ended up letting Klay walk due to cap issues. I see the Warriors just working around the edges and look at getting guys like Vucevic or Cam Johnson. Suns of course would swap out Beal for Butler in order to fix the lineup construction of having Beal and Booker that hasn’t worked. Two ball dominant two guards in your backcourt is not a recipe for long term success. The Beal and Herro backcourt would be much of the same. Would be fun at times to watch but will end up in losing basketball. Compound that with the contract and it makes zero sense to make that deal. Especially we’ll be stuck with Beal’s NTC.

So I guess the only PG upgrade happening until the Jimmy thing is figured out, if it’s figured out, is adding Stevens on a 2 way. Very disappointing, point JRich is byke!

Point goofy J Rich is the absolute worst. I hope Stevens gets a good look cause he knows how to feed the big man in great spots.
