Thank for your unbiased opinion, tb Hawks fan 1.
Dismissing a poster's opinion as being just a "homer" take when they gave a reason for why they feel how they do is lame. If you have nothing else to contribute, delete before hitting post next time please.

Can you please expand the thinking a bit more? I have some doubts about the purpose for each team. Before sharing them I am curious why you think the teams make this move?

Thank you for your clarification. I was pointing out the irony I saw in the situation, but I see it could be construed as "lame" to some.

Someone has to really believe in what he brings and still have something valueable for NOP. From the Lakers trade options, they'd have to value Rui and the Pelicans have 0 incentive to assist the Lakers in getting better this season due to the 2025 pick. That's why I think BI to LA is a dead conversation.
Pels traded the 2025 LAL 1st to ATL in the Murray trade. So Pels actually do have incentive to assist the Lakers: to save face so they didn't give up a high LAL pick to the Hawks, lol.

Certainly, no team, including the Pelicans, would make a "bad trade" that goes against their best interests. The implied context was, 'if LAL had the best offer among all available offers, and it met their value requirements to trade Ingram'-- then they would certainly engage in that trade.'
A possible byproduct of trading with the Lakers to improve their season could be making the Murray/ATL trade seem less bad for the Pelicans. But that was mainly a humorous counterpoint to the idea that Pelicans won't want to help the Lakers because Pels own their pick (now ATL's).
It was especially humorous to me (hence the "lol" in my reply) because Pels fans have had this situation of hoping for the Lakers to be bad for draft position purposes for 5 years, due to having LAL's picks and swaps from the AD trade. And now finally free of that agreement, they're no longer bound by an unspoken 'can't trade with LAL' mandate.
Hope this clears up the intentions and context behind my post. Cheers! Hawks looking good this year, Dyson is awesome. I wonder how available Okongwu could be from the Hawks soon.

Is it a stretch for Bucks to send a 2031 first for Ingram?
Would require some apron maneuvering.

Warriors don’t seem to have any interest in Ingram - or anyone else in that 30+ mil range that would cost them Wiggins and probably Kuminga (LaVine, Butler etc.)
They have their eye on the players in the 20+ mil range (Cam Johnson, Vucevic, Kuzma etc.) who could possibly be had without offering either.

I tried one around that with Middleton going to Det. Didn’t get a lot of excitement..

I think he'll somehow end up in Miami as Butler's replacement in a 3-team deal.

Bucks get:
Ingram
Malik Beasley
Fontechio
Pels get:
2031 pick
Mids
Aj green
Detroit gets :
Portis
Bobby
What ever bucks draft captial left over.
Imagine Detroit could pawn Bobby off for some seconds.
Bucks save 6 million this season and raise their ceiling.

Yeah, Det would probably like that a lot better but was trying to keep Lopez/Portis together. Milwaukee has the room to make the deal without either of their bigs and I think Portis is really important to what they do..
But a healthy Ingram gives Giannis some long term security so it’s really interesting to me at least.

Beasley been pretty big part of our seasons thus far, can't see us moving him.

Yeah, he’s played really well with Cade. Portis is a really good get though, but I think Milwaukee would much prefer paying Detroit to take on Connaughton than paying to turn Portis into Beasley anyways.

As a DET fan I'd much rather make it simple: send us your unwanted contracts, along with picks for eating the salary.
No reason for us to give up rotation pieces when we are flirting with making the play-in -- especially Beasley and Fontecchio who have been decent in their roles
In a no-win argument, the first poster to Let It Go will at least retain some peace of mind

Yeah, my post had Det getting Middleton for THJ to help the play-in push further... It wasn’t a good idea.

Re: Brandon Ingram Landing Spots
Bulls are a dark horse for Ingram.
They tried to move LaVine and know by now they cannot salvage positive value, not even second round picks. They will double down on winning now because they lose their pick inevitably. If they were to tank, they'd have to keep doing that 3 years.
So they will go the other way.
But they need cap.
So they need a third team to take Vuc. And they need a rim protector who's super cheap.
I think if they can extend Ingram then they would definitely surrender that Blazers lottery protected 1st which if the Blazers sell off all their big contracts, may never convey as a 1st. It's looking like it could be a fake first but the Pelicans have the play the upside or else risk losing Ingram for nothing.
Bulls are there for Ingram. Combined with Coby White and LaVine, they might stay relevant with the East being mired in a downturn.

Chicago can make a decent offer really if they want to keep the play-in chase going. And you can see Ingram/Williams/Matas as an actual decent forward rotation next season honestly.
I’d match with Ball/Giddey and whatever value though. Vuc stays in any play-in dream scenario probably.

I think keeping Vuc over Giddey hurts the Bulls. They need playmakers and Lonzo is not in the clear yet.
