Queen on the other hand had another solid game, i dont know how anyone can question him being on the floor especially considering the alternatives...

Isaac really needs to get back to his last years self, if hes going to be this bad offensively. This is my biggest worry, because last years Isaac was a game changer, and that would level us up as much as a healthy Paolo and Franz.
Keep Isaac

I understand why Queen was in over AB because of the nature of the game. I also get why they would target him in that situation though.
It wasn’t really about that possession. It was more about the bad second unit time and 3-4 poor shot making decisions leading up to that.
But Orlando also had no business winning this basketball game.
So you saying a variation of “Queen shouldn’t have been in the game” twice right after the game ended was just heat of the moment bluster?
Or did you share a “take” that you didn’t actually believe?
I’m willing to chalk it up to the former, but that sort of take happens enough to at least make me wonder if it’s the latter.

I think Isaac needs an organizer like Ingles last year. AB can do it sometimes, but other times, he runs from the ball. 14 assists for the team is really bad. AB had a stretch where he looked like a PG but stopped.

I believe AB is the better defender tbh. Probably my preference in the moment.
But I get the reasoning. Kinda like how Isaac is inserted into the game coming off a relatively cold performance in comparison .
I’m flattered you care so much about my takes here tonight. Should I buy you dinner or something?

Also hard for me to think people really think Suggs shoulders the most of the blame. There are deffo games where he tries to do too much for no reason.. this game he's doing too much because others aren't doing ANYTHING.
Usually 95% fine with Mose's rotations, didn't like the one at the start of the 4th. I understand not killing guys for the Knicks game but you can't have five guys who don't want the ball playing together lol.

JI, WCJ, KCP, and Cole are 4 of our 5 highest paid players, about 72 million in total. All are shooting 30% or lower from 3. Three of them are bench players. Three of them got 15 mins or less in a game with 3 key players missing. Interesting.

This is also assuming that everything you saw last season at full health also wasn’t a complete lie right?
Was Orlando a great amazing 3-point shooting perfectly run offense last season or did I miss that part?
It’s like the FO not addressing glaringly obvious roster issues and saying “yeah we weren’t healthy we won’t move anyone, we know nothing” like everyone is an idiot and doesn’t know how basketball works or skill sets materialize out of thin air to justify things.
I think you’re underestimating how much young guys have improved and will continue to improve.
Personally? I don’t really put any stock whatsoever into how they looked last year because that’s last year.
Paolo, Franz, Suggs are all different players than they were last year. Their respective improvements might manifest themselves in obvious ways or in subtle ways, but none of those guys are in any way *worse* than last year.

They will get better for sure. It will definitely be a better version of what we saw last season.
I don’t think the system offensively was good last season though.
So take that for what it’s worth and from a guy that plays up a schtick.

His defense has been average too, so with an average defense and awful offense, currently he is an injury prone, bellow average 15 mpg nba player who has 25m contract.

Good Cole needs to show up soon or it will be too easy to move on.
Give us that solid game every 2 to 3 games and he may survive.

On one hand i feel JI is playing a lot more games... on the other hand, his impact isnt as clear compared to before.
He really needs to lose weight.

Yup they were bad, but I rewatched that stretch and the Heat just hit everything to make it even worse than what it was. Like 4 straight 3s and a stepback deep 2, none of it was that terrible of defense. Only one of the 3s was really wide open, a kickout to Jaquez when Isaac went to help Jett in the post. Jaquez is a 24% 3 pt shooter so probably not a bad decision.

Also tbh we lost at the end of the 3rd. Screamed the Chicago game where they had missed like 15 shots in a row and we scored 2 points or something from that. Same thing at the end there, we missed sooo many open shots.

Yeah this game came down to shot selection overall.
Orlando’s defense is absolutely insane though. Magic should have lost by 20 and the defense just keeps them afloat.
There isn’t really a functional offense most possessions. The 3rd and 4th were just tremendously bad with some very huge swings in momentum that carried them otherwise.

There's two different questions I see some posters taking a position to one or the other. I'm sure there's other variables at play as well.
Does our shooting suck because of the actual players?
Does our shooting suck because we don't have a starting caliber PG?

That was when Paolo tore his oblique earlier in the game, and he couldn't hit an outside shot after that.SOUL wrote:Also tbh we lost at the end of the 3rd. At least the Bucks lost. So even if we lose to NY, we'll stay in 4th.
