Jokic to OKC

Post#1 » by redslastlaugh » Fri Dec 27, 2024 6:33 am

Blockbuster trade idea. OKC throws their chips in to land the biggest fish imaginable.

Denver trades:
Nikola Jokic

OKC trades:
Isaiah Hartenstein
Ousmane Dieng
Kenrich Williams
2027 Denver 1st returned
2029 Denver 1st returned
2025 Philly 1st
2025 LAC 1st
2026 best of HOU/LAC/OKC 1st
2028 best of OKC/DAL 1st
2025 ATL 2nd, 2026 GSW 2nd, 2027 MIN 2nd, 2028 UTA 2nd, 2029 PHX 2nd, 2030 MIA 2nd

I mean, you can’t predict the future, but look at those picks… other than Denver’s picks returned (Jokic is the lynchpin to everything, without him they’re going to struggle), that’s likely just a bunch of non-lottery firsts. It doesn’t matter how many there are, that won’t get you the best offensive player in the league.

It would probably take J Dub, Chet and 5 1sts to get Jokic

This is a lot of bulk but not a lot of certainty. If you want to have a shot at an arguably top 15 player all time, you'd have to start with Chet and JDubb plus a few of the best picks you have. Nuggets probably still pass.

Okay, the player side is too weak as originally proposed.

I reworked it sending out more player value from OKC

Chets frame and injury risks are too significant. I prefer Hartenstein as player and salary match structure

locking because no reasons were given per board policy. But I also hope the OP understands Denver is not trading Jokic no matter how many picks/prospects you pile up.
