Need an absolute bucket getter on all 3-levels next to Scottie if we want to be a contender.
He gives you everything RJ does but with better shooting and playmaking.
He lost to Xaivian Lee.![]()
I think we all need to temper expectations. Lots of really good players in this draft but likely top out at Banchero, Franz, Mike Conley, Suggs, etc. Better draft than last year but still likely not as good as 2026.
Jakobe was a top 5 HS recruit and had 2 French prospects go as top picks and even a bad year in college doesn't take away the initial ranking.
There’s really no point in judging Freshmen prospects by their team success when it is a freshmen led team. It’s extremely rare for freshmen led teams that lack quality upperclassmen leaders to actually achieve much in college, especially in March madness. There’s a reason why the most successful college teams in March madness are usually built around more experienced players with perhaps a freshman or two playing big roles (look at 2023-2024 UConn with Castle).
It’s a big reason why many college programs are now shifting their NIL focuses towards the transfer portal and beginning to prioritize HS recruiting a bit less now. It’s extremely hard to win when you rely heavily on Freshmen.
