I think the best fit for Randle is the Clippers.
Derrick Jones Jr, PJ Tucker and Terrence Mann, they can go to different teams in a convoluted deal. 3 for 1 seems like a lot, but obviously Tucker isn't playing and Mann and DJJ play 45 combined and Randle would cover 30 of those, so we're just talking about 7 or 8 minutes more a night for whichever 2 of Bones Hyland/Dunn/PorterJr.
Trade Checker says it works with Minott going to the Clippers and a Batum to the Wolves. Wolves can cut Ingles and Garza.
Wolves save like 7M next year which helps. Mann replaces NAW. Probably still need to trade for a PG, but some combo of Mann/Dillingham/Conley's expiring/DDV might make that possible.
Ivey and stew for Randle works. Add picks?
Or
Was sends JVal and Brogdon to Minnesota
Det sends Harris to Washington
Minnesota sends Randle to Detroit
Add in picks as needed
For picks on second deal: maybe Minnesota sends Detroit its first back. Then Detroit sends six seconds to Washington. Could have that Detroit pick go to Washington instead?

Re: Wolves/Pistons/? Help turn a concept into a trade
Tobias Harris isn't going to help anyone who wants to win. He's been bad this season. Randle is better paid and probably isn't good for the younger players' development. Harris is happy to shoot (and usually miss) his threes. The only upside is Randle possibly opting out after this season.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Harris is cheaper than Randle and Harris has different flaws than Randle. He might be a better complementary player on a team like Denver. There are others who could use him as well. Randle would be seen as upgrade by the Pistons, which is why they are giving other players/picks to acquire him plus return their own pick for more trade flexibility the next year or two.

Not sure how many 2nds but I do like the thought of getting control of our 1st back
Definitely not trading Ivey and Stew though

IMO it takes both Dillingham and the Det first to turn Randle into Murray like the other thread had.
If Minnesota could find a first and expirings for Randle, it might not be a bad idea just to do that trade and give Naz a half season/postseason of starting.. I don’t see who that team is though.
I like dillingham but I wanted murray on the wolves for a couple years. If there was a way to get murray for randle a 1st and dillingham I'd be very happy. At this point finding a replacement scorer and PG who can defend is more valuable than a pick. Losing KAT has been rough

I have to admit I haven’t followed Ivey at all since college. Can he play PG at the NBA level? MIN already have three good SG’s that all need minutes (Ant, NAW, DDV), and none of them are very effective if they are asked to run an offense.
Also interesting is that this deal cuts $10.1 mil from MIN’s payroll. Not only is that a fortune in luxury taxes this year, but it must lower MIN’s payroll to be within a hair of getting under the 2nd apron, which could open other possibilities.

Ivey can play spot minutes at PG, but you probably don't want him as your primary PG at this point.
If you're just wanting a backup center, how about Duren for control of our first?

Jones has been pretty vital, they definitely wouldn't use him as a throw-in, which he seems to be utilized here, and definitely wouldn't do Nico dirty and trade him again.
Esp when Randle is a questionable fit with James, Norm and Ivica.
