I wanna see him used more on the actual roster. I doubt he's much worse than Fernando.

Just throw the kid into the fire, what do we have to lose?

I think he could bring rim protection to the table right away. After giving up 155 to the Grizz we need to try to use who we already have.

Hell no. Just let the kid learn to play the game properly in G league. End of the year he can be our tank commander. But for now he's better off learning good habits and not having the pressure. He's a long term project. He won't be ready for the nba next year so why risk destroying his confidence.

Until injuries necessitate it, Mogbo is the starting center til' Poeltl comes back. Chomche will only play if we're down to our last 8 and even then we might sign, like, Dwight Howard to temporarily fill in the 5 for a few losses.

Lol He's awful and would foul out in the first 10 minutes... he's not even starting in the 905...

Yeah he looks way worse than he did at summer league. At summer league, at least he was a fluid athlete though clueless. Now he’s got so many things he is trying to remember that he looks slow and robotic out there on top of being clueless.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

..so much stupidity in one post..so little time.

Sounds exactly like the Grizzlies tenure in the NBA :)

So Vancouver is responsible for a poor Canadian dollar? A non Canadian no ownership? Stupid players refusing to play in Canada?

You can read right?

Starting him would be like putting a kindergartener in middle school. It’s not how development works.

Would be incredible for the tank though.

It was a frigging joke man... the "lol" and smiley faces in my post should have shown i was being lighthearted. Of course I'd love another team in Vancouver or anywhere else in Canada for that matter.

Amir Johnson drafted out of high school. 2nd round (26th pick, 56th overall)

Amir was considered a 4 star recruit coming out of HS. Not sure if he was having difficulty with lay-ups and airballing or hitting the top of the backboard on shots 5 feet away from the rim.

Amir’s D-league stats: 18.9 points, 9.7 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.2 steals and 3.1 blocks per game, while shooting 62.3% from the field

I’d blow my load if Chomche could come close to that in the G-league.

Weird thing about Chomche is that he shows some potential on his jump shooting and passing, but is way behind on some very basic basketball skills

I think back to when we first got Chris Boucher, the man did not really know how to play basketball, but relied on energy, activity, length and athleticism. Getting chomche to be as disciplined as possible, as fundamentally sound as possible, while playing with all out reckless abandon is probably the best way to develop him. Add the shooting and passing continuing to develop and you can see a rotation player in a few years.

Again, though, Boucher dominated the gleague, did he not? That's how he was earning his nba shot, he basicly dominated the league below the nba, coming in off the street or his dish washing job or whatever he had. Chomche isn't doing that but is a young undeveloped prospect. You can argue Boucher had limited skills at the nba level, but I'm pretty sure he was dominating in the weaker division. Chomche, on the offensive end in particular not so much. Chris Boucher first real chance at nba minutes he was shooting 57% from the field despite 40% of his shots being inefficient threes, and he had 4.5 rebounds per game in very limited minutes.

Sure, he didn't know how to play or whatever. Didn't stop him from scoring inside, making some threes, rebounding, trying hard, making free throw etc. He had abilities. Call him raw or whatever. This was a baseline for a solid nba career. Now, Boucher was like 27 when he got his nba shot so totally different developmental paths.

It might not be traditional, but any video of himself, vs NBA level competition could be a valuable teaching tool.

I'd want to see a lineup of
IQ/Ja'kobe/Scottie/Ulrich/Jakob

Give him some pick and pop, 3 point attempts, and be a lob threat.

Being the "worst" in this lineup would be more beneficial than being the "worst", with lesser talent in the 905.

Impressive stuff. The foot speed, coordination, and athleticism can't be taught. I just hope the game, and his processing start to slow down.

But this is encouraging stuff.

Yup, getting Blk/Foul ratio closer to 1 is good for 1st year on defense. Next up, getting the A/T closer to 1, to help facilitate the offense, not necessarily creating for others yet. Also just FT shooting needs more reps.

Great reminder to be patient with him too, he's just a kid, barely 19.
