Can't imagine it actually happening, but I don't think that would be why.

I agree Jimmy probably just wants to get paid one last time (just like PG).

However, I wouldn't underestimate Jimmy's ability to hold a grudge. That's all.

Against who though? Josh? Different GM (well, president or whatever), different coach, different roster (no Ben).

Spike Eskin?

The organization as a whole. "They wouldn't pay me, they paid ******* Tobias Harris instead of me?"

That being said, it's probably nothing a call from Daryl couldn't fix. I do ultimately agree Jimmy wants to get paid. I just don't overlook the crazy part. Jimmy is somewhat crazy.

I hear you. I just imagine his issue was mainly Brett, as both the coach and brief decision maker

I would swap George for Butler…not sure how it would work out though unless it’s a 3-team deal. Even then, hard to find a reason why the 3rd team wouldn’t just want Butler.

We are not trading Paul George for Jimmy Butler unless you are fine with no future star free agents signing in Philadelphia which we already had a problem or having to give out the rare no trade clause. The infatuation with Jimmy is kind of weird at this point in his career. he is very dependent on foul baiting to score because he can't shoot. and he foul bout by seeking lower body contact which is why he can't play regular season games. id rather wait for Paul George to adjust and figure things out. he started to look good with just him and maxey. he'll adjust and get comfortable with Embiid taking shots away.

I personally would like another 3&D wing but in the vein of Jrue Holiday or OG Annuoby. Caleb Martin is our best perimeter on ball defender so I like him and Yasele rotating at the 4. Oubre need to back up Paul at the 3. Maxey can play y the 1 so that leaves a starter at the 2. let Eric gordon coach, he's washed. mccains played the 1 when he returns. cut into Lowry and Jacksons playing time.

what 2-guard 3 and d that can contribute defense is available? Josh Green in Charlotte? Return of DeAnthony Melton? Lu Dort? or do we ant another shooter with no defense? Camron Johnson, Malik Beasley?

Johnathan Kuminga
Shaedon Sharpe
Lauri Markannen
Keegan Murray
Jalen Smith
Walker Kessler
Robert Williams
Herb Jones
Cameron Johnson
Isaiah Stewart

All names that we should be at the very least, asking about before the trade deadline.

Will be unwise to trade a 1st this year, especially if it's one beyond 2026.

On another note, what a mess in Miami. Seems prudent to stay completely away from the Butler drama.

Don't like the Mccain fit here. Don't wait too late like we did with the others and sell high. We build this trade on Maxey timeline.

Mccain,EG, Drummond,KJ and whatever to get another piece.
Still need a legit young forward that can rebound, defend and score.
Yabu can play 4/5 off bench. And make room to resign him longterm.

Hey what do you guys think about Cole Anthony? He's in a major downfall with Orlando. He's barely playing, I'm sure it's because he's a lousy defender, but he's a scorer, and a player that can probably be acquired for next to nothing. MCcain replacement? I mean, I like him better than Seth Curry.

Tre Mann could be cheaper

Mediocre, offense only bench guard that actually gets paid. He can do more with the ball than Curry, but he's not anywhere near the shooter.

He'd be an improvement on our cooked vet minimum bench guards, but not enough to make an actual impact on wins and losses, and wouldn't be worth anywhere near 13M a year here (he'd be the 4th highest paid player on the team by a pretty big margin :o )

I like Beef Stew, but it feels like we're kinda getting the same thing he'd bring to the table out of Yabu already.

I don't think Lauri is possible after the extension.

Herb Jones is the most interesting guy here to me pretty easily. I do worry his shooting season last year was an anomaly, but I also don't think it's as bad as it's been this year, and that dude is awesome on defense.

Keegan Murray probably isn't available, right? Even in a rebuild I don't see why they'd move him.

Cam is the 2nd most intriguing to me, as I think he's gettable, would be a great fit, and is locked up at a somewhat reasonable rate. I don't love that you'd lose some of our already thin depth in acquiring him though, particularly when he's a guy that has struggled to stay healthy for his entire career.

Finney-Smith is the guy we started the year talking about, and he might still be the more realistic target from a salary matching/cost of acquisition/fit stand point.

Why would Houston do that though? They're a top 5 team in the west this year. That's a team chemistry wise is really working. I think Smith is a huge part of the reason why.

Unless some deal falls into our lap (like Keegan Murray for cheap), we should just let this season play out and keep our assets in reserve. I need to see way more from PG & Embiid before I push my chips in for this team.
