That makes sense -- he's a good young 3rd big on a reasonable salary. I think he'd be great in OKC and personally I'd trade a better 1st than what OKC is offering here.
That said, question for Detroit fans: what would convince you to trade Stewart? An expiring + ?
"Show me the moon."
And not quibble at all. Its the teams cap space thats the real prize.
Getting one of the Pistons young players right now, is gonna cost any team dearly. They are finally on the upswing, and have trade facilitating cap space.
Honestly, I don't know what it would take, but its gonna take more then people think.
Agree
DET is looking to acquire good young players under 25, and/or FRPs, with its cap space
Beef Stew is a good young player under 25; Cade is a very good young player under 25. The rest of the roster is mainly meh vets and youngsters with potential. Some youngsters, particularly Ivey, have a ton of potential and a really high ceiling, but I'm not going to try to sell anyone that he's anywhere near a finished product or a reliable piece for a contender.
The only thing that could interest DET in parting with one of their few good young players under 25 like Beef Stew is -- acquiring a better young player under 25 who also plays the front court. Otherwise, there is just no point.
