To Houston
Bruce Brown
Chris Boucher
Davion Mitchel
Portland 2nd 2025
For
Steven Adams
Jeff Green
Ja Sean Tate
Jock Landale
2025 Houston 1st lotto protected
The rockets trade back in the draft about 15 slots to upgrade their bench production and get off La dale
The Raptors are really good at drafting in the 20s, so adding another pick to what projects to be a top 5 pick helps the rebuild immensely.

Re: Toronto Houston
Landale is expiring, Toronto is not providing any thing of value.
Easy pass for Houston.

Re: Toronto Houston
BRuce Brown still isn't worth a first. He's not even neutral value on that contract. And no Mitchell and Boucher and a good 2nd don't bump him to first round value.
Now if the deal is those players and Houston sends the Nets two future 2nds, okay sure. Brown if healthy might play playoff minutes for them and if not, its cost them nothing for the insurance.
But the only way to get a first back in a deal with Brown at the center of it is to take back future bad money something GoDaddy keeps pointing out doesn't work for the Raps so I think we need to let that dream die.

I think this makes the most sense. Even from Toronto's standpoint, unless the Raptors know who is on the draft board they rather not take on a guaranteed first round draft pick instead of the Portland 2nd, which is better within the new CBA and allows them to take a flyer on a prospect.
I think this is a fair deal on both sides with the 2nd rounders instead of the Houston first.

Re: Toronto Houston
a high 2nd is never better than a late 1st. No matter the CBA.

You do know that 1st round picks only have 2 guaranteed years and the other 2 are team options?
A high 2nd is never better than a 1st. Not in this CBA or any previous one

Re: Toronto Houston
I've got Tate as the best asset in this deal, and the HOU FRP as the second best asset in the deal, with the Toronto assets following as 3rd-4th-5th(maybe)
Take out Tate, and one of either Boucher or Mitchell, and it's closer in value, but I'm not sure either side is really motivated

In a no-win argument, the first poster to Let It Go will at least retain some peace of mind
