This is just what college sports is now. This is the environment they created. So people need to lay off the kid. It's not there money and draft positioning on the line it's his.

eh, it's just discussion. were people not allowed to discuss KD going to the warriors because it's his money, his living situation and we're not the ones directly competing with him? lebron going to miami? players holding out? as long as it's civil, and no ones making threats, who cares

ultimately, he was a professional who prob made $1m+ this year and his teammates are technically professionals too. they rely on him to play and win games. imo, as the leader of the team it's his responsibility to play and help his teammates win games, get their draft stock up, make more money in NIL, etc

I'm sorry nobody cares about the whatchamacallitbowl...meaningless game. If anything it raised his draft stock. Iowa State has one of the best pass defenses in the country and he carved them up with no name WR's.

Nabers got his records and was taken out of the 2nd half of his bowl game and no one cared.

I just feel its a weak talking point. Because the current environment that college football has set has put these kids in this situation to make business decisions. And I'm going to put myself in his shoes. He is basically a zero star coming from a family with no money. To tell him to tough it out and play and risk his future in a meaningless game after he showed out for a half, nah thats not it.

Discuss Ward all you want, but slander of the greatest bowl game in all of college sports will not be tolerated!

Just seems like a thing that’s destined for the money tap to be turned off. Especially at the playoff gets expanded even more. Doesn’t really make sense for the players to play and I could see this stuff turning into a “pro ball” level of competition.

A lot of these games are still on ABC, ESPN, and all the big networks as long as networks continue to pay out the ass for the BS bowl game rights there will still be meaningless blow games. Didn't a 5-7 team make it to play army? It's a joke.

I honestly did not know about Malik doing it so the point is null.

Plus doing from the QB position is a million times worst and you know it.

Doing in general is wack.

Also Malik Nabers has shown he is kinda all about himself so like I said earlier it shows a character issue.

Did we just forget about this????

It’s wack my dude. There is no way to dance around it. You just had nothing at stake is why you blinded by it.

Imagine if this was war and a general did that. What happens to morale after????

Exactly.

Yep I was saying I wonder how his team mates feel about what he did. That’s a weak move. He should’ve just sat out the whole game instead.

Those aren't even remotely the same situations. One guy is still getting paid in the NFL and sat himself because he was in his own feelings about being replaced by a better player who was returning from injury and he felt he deserved to start.

This kid didn't have to play at all...the game doesn't matter. He showed out (got his records like Malik that he deserved) and got out of the game healthy to keep his draft status and earning potential as high as possible. Also nothing has came out that the coach, player, or anything didn't have a plan before the game was established. Thats why I don't blame Malik either...Brian Kelly later had to come out and say he wanted to play but its best for business that he got out of the game healthy. The whole story matters.

I just have a question would anyone comp him the +30 Million he would lose if say he has a significant injury from dropping from a top 5 pick to a 2nd rounder? Obviously that is a rhetorical question...but the point remains I aint getting in any kids way of impacting his earnings potential when college sports is ridiculous right now.

Bruh the whole point of that video is to show that it’s a sucker move to leave teammates hanging in the middle of a game. Don’t know how you missed the point there.

Have you ever played sports? If you have then you know you can never respect a move like that.

Everything you speaking about makes no sense cause alll you have to do is not to play period and your bag is protected and it’s at least respectable that you didn’t suit up.

You suited up for a personal record is the nastiest of works.

You leaving teammates in the middle of game is lame.

Please deal with context here.

He left his teammates hanging in the middle of the game to chase a record for his own personal checklist.

Did he worry about his financial future the first half of the game? Nah he didn’t. Supposed he got hurt then???

He was selfish here about a damn personal record FIRST and FOREMOST.

It’s not respectable at all.

With all that NFL talent Brian Kelly hasn’t won anything at LSU. Guys leaving in the middle of a game to get a record just wouldn’t happen under Nick Saban (I know he’s retired now) or Kirby Smart. I know it’s a bit different with a wr and given the score.

Then why hasn't one of his teammates or coach come out to kill him about it? 49ers players and coaches clearly had no issue calling out Campbell. It's likely because this was the plan and everyone was on board with it. A lot of times coaches use bowl games to try out different players to see what they have for next year.

non-playoff college bowl games mean nothing in terms of wins/losses.

Man....no one will care about this in 6 months.

All I care about is what pick we will end up with and which QB we're taking. That's what matters and not Cam opting out of a half of a bowl game that means nothing.

Shedeur could have done the same thing yesterday and I wouldn't care. It's a business and the players are wisely treating it as such.

Hardly any of the 49ers players called out homie publicly but you know they echoed the sentiment.

Again the people who have issue with it are gonna remain quiet more often than not. Most disappointments in sport locker rooms with teammates doesn’t leak out.

Watch any former athlete and you know the majority of it stays in house more often than it leaking.

Yeah you got some who didn’t care but you same sure have some who do care that he left.

It’s a wack move period and trying to sugar coat is pointless to me.

kittle called him out. other players did as well.

Shanahan called him out in postgame.

John Lynch (GM) kicked him off the sidelines.

Ward was out there cheering and coaching his teammates in the 2nd half. I think its a nothing burger. I was more impressed by his throws vs a pretty good pass defense from all accounts. Looks like the real deal.

Nothing that happened yesterday impacting his stock negatively for me. Actually it further made me believe he in the best QB in the class.

kittle called him out. other players did as well.

I said hardly. There is 53 dudes on the team. Picking 5 of them proves my point that the majority will stay quiet.

You trying to have a point so bad You reading to respond. Smh

Alright well then we will agree to disagree then. Its all good.

Nothing that happened yesterday impacting his stock negatively for me. Actually it further made me believe he in the best QB in the class.

The problem here is you are arguing about draft stock for the most part or if it’s about his talent.

Nobody clearly cares about that. It’s why I nevered mentioned it once.

If you played sports you would know what is being said by the people who don’t like the move.

I don’t respect it. And if I knew Malik did it last year I would have said he lame as well.

He can be the best QB is the world. Don’t mean I like when a player move outside of team.

See I played sports before and just like me, there are other players that played sports that also don't have an issue with it.
