Love to jab at Rob but big credit to some of the FO decisions. Making a starting backcourt; Reaves, Christie and getting JJ off a podcast was huge risk taking. Even Bronny as the 55th pick might end up surpassing expectations. Horrible in free agency but homegrown development on point. Great young talent factory.

Good that they still have both first rounders.

How should I feel about this? Seems like reshuffling chairs on the Titanic, but DLo has sucked this year so idk.

Depends on how good DFS is defensively at this stage. If he's still a plus there it definitely helps, but it's not going to matter all that much by itself either way.

Anything that gets DLo off the team without giving up too much alongside him is a good move IMO

Totally agree. Pretty much addition by subtraction at this point.

Gives them another playable without losing flexibility. Dlo has been so mid his departure won't matter much

I don't get Shake Milton tho. Unless they wanted to keep a 1st for Kessler

Hmm how should I feel about this?

DFS is a nice role, but we didn’t get back Sharpe and he alone doesn’t push us to a contender

Dlo was our best salary piece too

Assuming we have another 1-2 trades….so what do you guys think is next?

They don't have enough 2nd rounders to do smaller deal for a big and the only C who's worth a 1st is Kessler

Kessler would be so worth a pick if he had more years and the shadow GM wasn't greedy Danny Ainge sure to ask for at least 2 frps and Knecht. Just forget it for now and check at the deadline.

Lakers needed playmaking back if they moved DLo. Milton has been impressive when given actual minutes this season and he's locked up for 3 years for $3m per season. I think Shake could be sneaky great piece of this trade.

In any case it means Lakers can move Vincent and/or Vando for a C or Lakers just hold with existing team to be active on buyout market with the $2.8m saved in this trade.

We still have our 2nd this year and the clippers 2nd

Not a lot of guys for that probably

Nick Richards: Likely want more, but JHS and Hayes and 2 2nds is all we got.
Alex Len: JHS and 2nds feels fair, but unsure if hes even an upgrade
Kevon Looney??: Would GS move him to us? Needs to be a 3 teamer, so thats tough
Paul Reed
Steven Adams is interesting, but I dont see a deal that makes sense unless they are interested in Gabe and 2nds. Maybe can offer a swap with some protections? Or a 3rd team who wants Vando and throw in a swap if we want Gabe?

Are we allowed to take on more salary now in a deal now or still no?

Lakers have Rui, Wood, Hayes, Koloko

They only need 10mpg in playoffs, they may choose C by committee. It might be better to have a selection of backup Cs for matchup flexibility anyway.

But yeah, maybe Lakers do make a move for a legit big by using an FRP. The salaries they have remaining are multi year, so they may need an FRP to shed anyway.

We might see Vincent+FRP for Val+3xSRPs.

Wasnt this the same stuff that was said and then we moved Russ and a 1st for Dlo, Vando, and Beasley?

All guys had higher value when we made the move as well

Dlo was looked at as a higher upside guy than today
Vando was playing well. Still a very good defender when healthy ofc
Beasley had a down year with us, but back to being good

If Danny wants the pick protection removed and a 29 1st with light protections, for Kessler and Sexton you may have to do it (depending what else is out there). Salaries would be Vincent, JHS, Milton, and Hayes/Reddish

Reaves, Christie, DFS, Bron, AD
Sexton, Knecht, Vando??, Rui, Kessler

Not the perfect move still, but a solid team

I am not sure how much I value Sexton, he is a very bad defender fro the advanced numbers. LIke near the bottom

These people can't play at C in the playoffs for a serious team

Definitely some opportunity cost here losing DLO's expiring. Defense should be top 12ish, though.
