Trade works, would you risk It on Ball?

Yes I would, even though his health is at risk, he's an expiring contact. He brings mental toughness and high IQ. and he is a much better floor general.



The trade that I cannot get out of my head that works for everybody... LeBron, bronny, Maxwell, wood.... for Butler, love, and JJ

what better way for bronny to grow under the best coach in the NBA? Lebron is made for that system with shooters and another great pick and roll defensive center. Lebron is a much better fit for Pat Riley and for the coach and for that locker room in the East Coast.

Butler brings the exact mental toughness we need to hold everybody accountable , along with two guys that would ball out for LA.

no one is giving the farm for jimmy, not knowing if he will re-sign or his availability. hence why Riley hates him. Miami loves bron, and Eric and bron were loving each other in team USA.

I don't see objections from anyone but lebrons agent who doesn't want him to face backlash for multiple teams. If that still holds true... The best team to trade with is Toronto if we are keeping LeBron

FYI: Adding cash and/or 2-way players doesn't add to the total out going salary. Example: Vincent = 11m in out going salary; Vincent + a 2-way player + 1m in cash = 11m in out going salary.

You won't give up Vandy but no problem with Rui? Rui is an untouchable forward now for the Lakers cause of his bargain basement contract. Vandy is injured too often and not nearly the offensive player Rui is. I would include Dlo in a hot minute on any trade cause he won't be resigned, yet neither of you included.

3 second round picks, for that garbage? Nevermind that I think we coulda got some actual value for DLo (although I'll admit it's about damn time that piece of "work" was off our team).....just trading 3 second round picks for a couple of complete NPC's. What are we meant to do with that?!

So ok.....here we are. This year the Net's did exactly what we should have done. They now have a ton of the Knicks picks, and they have 3 of our 2nd-rounders. DLo comes off their books in 40-some games, and they are free to do whatever they want. So let's see in 3-4-5 years where the Nets are, and where the Lakers are.

I don't hate it... DFS is the only player in the league who has spent time guarding Centers, Forwards, and guards, he's a huge upgrade on D, he's shooting 43% from 3 and at 10+ ppg is only 3 ppg behind Dlo. He also has a player option for next year for about as much as Dlo, so we get another 3.5 mill under the 2nd apron this year and have flexibility for next. Shake will be a cheap piece at ~3 mill for next year and add to some deeper bench handling.

This might open up a 2nd trade, or at the very least we get improved D and Knecht gets more shots (hopefully). I don't know about DFS from a locker perspective and I do know Austin loved Dlo and he was a decent locker positive this time around.

Wait... Russell is gone. If it were for you and I it's an addition by subtraction deal and any deal that get's that fraud off the Lakers is a good deal in my opinion.

We get someone who plays defense. The thinking is that will help. Many confuse individual defense with team defense but at least we have someone who understands that you need to generally play between your man and the basket.

As for the larger argument of rebuilding or at least setting the team up for that. The ownership has invested in this group... poorly I might add and without any strategy but they are not about winning or building... only staying relevant in the largest NBA market in a year when viewership is down nearly 60% for the NBA's product. Near term cash flow over long term prosparity.

Dumb trade. Fire rob. Before you pounce on me, there’s no arguing dfs is an upgrade to dlo. That’s beside the point. It’s a bad use of assets. Picks and expirings should be used to get a needle mover. Dfs is an upgrade but we aren’t close to a contender. Now we don’t have a 19mm expiring salary to trade for a star (jimmy butler, Zion). I think I just have to come terms w the fact that Jeanie and rob have no intention of putting out a contender.
