What do you guys think is a fair offer for Johan Santana?

And he's still capable of throwing 220-230 innings because he has such good command and keeps his pitch counts down.

One of the more impressive things I've seen is Santana's development from a guy that just tried to strike everybody out into an actual pitcher.

When he first moved into the starter's role in the majors, he was very impressive, but couldn't really make it out of the 4th inning because he didn't get many outs on the first couple pitches.

Now he's developed into a 220 inning workhorse that's never thrown more than 120 pitches in a game. I'll be sad to see him go, no matter the package, and even more disappointed since most of the offers I've seen reported for him are pretty underwhelming.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

Damn, just give up Lester, Ellsbury, and Lowrie and get it over with.

The rotation and lineup (yes, even with Coco) are both dominating!

With Jason Place scheduled for double A this year, Boston could easily survive two years with Crisp playing gold glove center and hitting 8th or 9th.

Do you think Manny even knows he plays left field?

When he has to pee he does.

Who the **** told you that Place was going to AA this year? He struggled mightily at low A this year and put up respectable numbers in the HWL (even though he still struck out far too often). Best case scenario is Place going to Lancaster but the good money is on him repeating Greenville again. Place is a giant work in progress and isn't even close to sniffing the major leagues. I wouldn't bank any future plans on him just yet. Ryan Kalish will break into the bigs before Place and Kalish didn't get out of the NY-Penn league last season. mahalo

You said Jason Place is going to start at AA this year. This past season, in Greenville, which is low A, Place hit .214/.298/.359/.657. An OPS of 657 is an abomination for a player of Place's talent. Now he did put up an OPS of.768 in the Hawaiian Winter League but that was mostly due to an increase in his walk rate and a power spike because his batting average was still .213. Now I am a firm believer that batting average is a poor stat to indicate if a player is a good hitter or not but if you can't get your batting average over .220, you suck. Place struck out 160 times in 129 games last season and struck out 39 times in 26 games in Hawaii. His contact skills are horrible. He has a world full of talent but he needs a lot of time in the minors to improve his contact rate before his full talent will come out.

There is no way in hell he starts the year in Portland nor will he be at the show in two years. He is going to repeat Greenville and hopefully the Sox minor league coaches can clean up his swing so that he can consistent solid contact. He is actually walking a fair amount and I've heard reports that his strikeouts are inflated by taking a lot of called strike 3s so perhaps he's being too cautious at the plate. In any case, he isn't close to being ready for Portland. mahalo

Alright Einstein, instead of just typing a bunch of question marks like a monkey in front of a keyboard, how about you actually articulate your puzzlement using words and perhaps I can actually answer them. mahalo
