LAL-CHI Follow up Trade

Post#1 » by Maverick41 » Sun Dec 29, 2024 11:07 pm

LAL receives:Vucevic
CHI receives: Hachimura + Wood + 2 SRPs

LAL gets a starting level C to move AD to the 4 and reduce some of his mileage. They can put out a very solid lineup of Lebron/Reeves/DFS/AD/Vuc. They can be very competitive while maintainng their FRPs for post-Lebron era.

CHI gets a solid bigger wing in Rui and 2 SRPs. I doubt CHI can pull a FRP for Vuc as he's harder to fit around teams because of his defensive deficiencies.

Bulls get a bigger wing and and 2 SRP's that they lack for quite some time, is Wood their backup center? Post the next trade where they get an actual backup center and not just a journeyman who never works out anywhere. I would rather the Bulls/Lakers try to involve a third team with even the latest of FRP's and a real center

Imo, if the goal for CHI is to tank and get the highest possible draft pick, Wood is a perfect tank commander. Especially in the Bulls system where 3s are chucked quite a bit.

SF: DFS (36) | LeBron (12)
PF: LeBron (26) | Davis (22)
C : Davis (18) | Vuc (30)

I think that looks good but Davis would have to play PF 50% of the time.

I could see this happening. Lakers retain Vando as backup.

The minutes are a little high, but the idea is giving Vuc 30 min at C with AD getting the other 18, leaving 17 MPG for Davis at PF. LeBron’s 35 MPG get split between the forward spots. DFS then plays about 14 MPG at PF and 20 MPG at SF. That leaves about 11 MPG for Kenecht or Christie to play up a position.

This is one of the more interesting trade ideas I have seen on these boards. I do think Rui’s archetype and age are more valuable than Vuc, but this trade has me intrigued.

Reaves/Chrisite/James/Davis/Vuc
Vincent/Kenecht/DFS/Vando

Zach is having one of his best shooting seasons in years, and the Bulls are currently 14-18. This is a good return for Vuc and the Bulls need to sell. You’re not getting a first for Vuc without taking on garbage contracts.

Poetel is the only guy that qualifies, the Raptors likely want a first for him, and the Lakers would just take him if he could be had for that package.

I'd hold out in the hopes of Laker desperation that Pelinka blinks and craps the bed.

I rather have Rui in the postseason imo rather than buying high and hoping it translates.

Not moving Rui unless were getting a wing upgrade

For trade:
Vando, Vincent, JHS, Milton, Hayes/Reddish and then its picks/swaps

Knecht could be made available, but guy would need to likely be young as well
