Deandre Hunter destroyed RJ ntilikina once again.
22 points on 66% FG while shutting down RJ holding him to 38% FG and 1-5 from 3. And he lost by 30
1 year ago today we pulled off the biggest heist in nba history. Another L for the barbz but a W for real Knicks fans. Thank you Leon!

Randle was a -9 in that game. They looked a lot better when he and Conley were on the bench.

Good morning Timberwolves fans.
Just dropping by to check on y'all in the "Jail/Hell for Timberwolves Fans" thread to see how y'all are holding up locked in here.

Some encouraging words for you:
KAT>>>>>> Randle
Knicks >>>>>> Wolves
I've also put some money on your commissary. You're welcome.
I'll be off to enjoy my New York Knicks now as we eye the #2 seed.
I hope your jail cell is comfortable in here! Have a great day!

Didn’t watch so I can’t confirm!
But it sounds like this new rotation they’re doing with him has him playing better lately. #1 offensive rating and top 10 defense with that group. Randle said he has more space to be a point forward too.

Why not, could be the move #teamtoxic
We all know why no one wanted to trade for Mitchell because it involved moving on from a losing toxic ex Knick
Which is why everyone hates OG so much.

Around Brunson, I'll take those guys. Donovan would have been a good first piece. Also, takes a coach of the caliber of Atkinson to fit Garland/Mitchell together but offensively that's a better fit because Garland's off ball skills > Brunson's.

Moved to different thread….
That protected first we used for Hart would have been gone to move Fournier in the deal.
Woj reported 3 picks Nyk 1sts, 2 swaps, 2 other picks, a bunch of 2nds….plus RJ and IQ or Grimes. Basically the assets we used to get OG, Hart, and Mikal
Chanel Bomber wrote:Deeeez Knicks wrote:Chanel Bomber wrote:Some of the reservations at the time may have been warranted but Cleveland's run shows that the Mitchell trade wouldn't have been the disaster some here claimed it would be. He's a brilliant basketball player and he and Garland are co-existing well with the defense behind them.
I prefer our current core as it has (in theory at least) a better balance, so I'm not lamenting that the trade collapsed. But I think we would have have had some exciting seasons with Mitchell similar (or close) to the relative success we've had in recent years.
Mitchell is a great player that I would have loved to have, but we made the right decision. That trade would have zapped our resources where we would not have been able to assemble OG, Mikal, Hart....maybe Deuce...maybe KAT.
It was perfect timing to add Mikal and KAT
Plus we already beat Clev in the playoffs pretty badly....with RJ as our 2nd best player in the series![]()
I don't think that's true.
Hart only took Cam and a protected first. We could've still traded for him.
We would still have IQ who became the centerpiece of the OG trade, with additional picks and salary filler to trade if needed. We could've still traded for him.
We had the resources to build a contender around Mitchell and Brunson. And as it turns out, Ainge's demands were pretty much a bargain for us.
That we beat them with Mitchell doesn't automatically mean we would've met Cleveland's fate with him on our squad.
It's perfectly fine to be happy with our current squad - which I am - and admit to these points.

When guard Immanuel Quickley was proposed as a replacement for Grimes in the trade, Utah wanted three unprotected first-round draft picks as part of the package -- but New York would only do a third first-round pick that included top-five protections, sources said. Those packages would've included Milwaukee's 2025 first-round pick, two second-round picks, two pick swaps and two expiring contracts from a third team, sources said. New York would've moved out Evan Fournier and a first-round pick to a third team to spare Utah taking on Fournier's remaining $37 million, sources said.

Oh hey, look where we are. Fight thread.
Cost and fit are important.
You want very strong defenders and two-way players around Brunson, guys who fit his play style; guys who don't need to dominate the ball to have an impact.
If we didn't have Brunson as our PG, it would have made all the sense in the world to break the bank for Mitchell.
Alternatively, if we drafted a pass-first PG like Haliburton, it would have made sense to go after Mitchell.
The Cavs surround Garland and Mitchell with three strong, low usage defenders. It blends seamlessly. Kenny is doing fine work coaching.
Offensively, Brunson, Mitchell, Randle, don't seem like a good fit; there's only one ball.
And the 3 of them are mediocre defenders, with Randle being flat out poor.
In today's NBA, you won't get very far with three ball dominant guys fighting over the ball and no defense in your starting lineup. On 2K that would be a fun team but not likely in real life.
Based on Brunson's style of play, OG and Mikal together are better than just having Mitchell with Brunson .

Calm down, they are not phasing Gobert out of the rotation.
