Who is our 3rd best player?

Post#1 » by ctorres » Tue Dec 31, 2024 7:32 pm

I hope mods don't mind this thread, but lock it if it's an issue

I feel like Josh, OG, and Mikal have been playing equally great basketball this season

I don't know if any of them truly stands out as our 3rd best player, but I'd like to read some arguments about it

They're all equally as important to be honest, we lose any of the 3 and we're toast.

OG because of the elite one of a kind defense.

Josh because of the absolute uncanny ability to be a perfect gap filler of anything that is needed most on any night.

Bridges because of his two way ability and third best scoring numbers after Brunny and KAT.

Haha, this is a trick question!

It depends on the night. That's fine. They pick each other up.

That's the point. It's like election choices. You only get to pick one.

(oh no, is this thread is gonna derail into politics?)

So gun to my head, eh? I'm going to say Mikal. But it's so close.

It really depends on how you define best.

If you value defense its OG
If you value offense its Bridges
If you value hustle and versatility its Hart

Bridges is our 3rd best player, but Hart is the 3rd most important if that makes sense. Feel like whenever Hart is having a great game we win ever since he’s got here

Hmmm, I think there could be two ways to look at this.

The 3rd 'best' or the 3rd 'most valuable' to the team's success.

I think Brunson and Towns are the first two in both of those categories but by the time you get to the 3rd the answer isn't as clear. It seems Bridges, OG or Hart could be the third in either of those different ways of looking at it.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

Yes.

But if I have to pick, Bridges.

He's probably our third most important player. He does so much that is unique. I think Bridges is 3rd best though. OG is also awesome. What a team!

This is a hard question, man.

But I did a quick mathematical calculation based on offense and defense and it's OG.

I disagree. If OG has a big game = Automatic win.

OG is a bigger difference maker. With OG's defense alone, if he drops 20 points or more . . . forgetaboutit!
