Not sure it's a huge problem. Might still be just able to pay our 2 rookies, minimums for Chomche and Battle and use the full non-tax MLE. That would mean no Agbaji extension, though, and he hits the RFA market in 2026, but is he really getting more than a non-tax MLE offer from anyone? Unless he'd sign an extension this summer for like 10M a year, which maybe he would, it's probably worth risking.

Would prefer just moving up about 12 to 15 picks with the PDX 2nd going to Orlando and in exchange the Denver 1st coming to us, though (or Orlando first, whatever, but teams understandably like the flexibility of not moving their own picks because of the Stepien rule).
Where's the D?

I am not sure why you would want to put that amount of lower body pressure on Moe while he is recovering from an ACL...

While it is overplayed, front offices normally speak to their star player about big changes, and making sure Franz knows what is going on and getting his temperature to such a move seems like the bare minimum.

Yes...I didn't actually mean to disagree with you...it would be discussed with Franz, Moe, and the other team's GM to make sure all were on the same page. I only dismiss the concept that's thrown around about "what if Franz gets mad?" as in, nothing can ever be done with Moe - he's untouchable and must be overpaid, even if he's out for a year.

moe has never been overpaid

On a bad team, in a big role, he's underpaid...in the context of THIS team, as the 3rd Center, with our top 3 guys all heading into massive extensions, he's overpaid as a 3rd Center...he's a middle class player, and that's a category where guys get squeezed out. Sorry, I like the guy but EVERYBODY can't get what they may be worth on a good team.

I like him too. Sorry about this reality. Until we jettison Cole and his $12m and WCJ and his upcoming $18m+ ...Moe is a luxury item that we can't really afford to pay to rehab on a team option. I'd love to get him back on the court and in the rotation when housecleaning is completed and we add a viable offensive guard to the second unit.

I think we all agree that he is the 6th man/back up center. No idea why you think he is somehow behind WCJ.

For the record, I much rather resign Moe and trade WCJ than lose Moe if those are my two options.

That's become an easy one...the money and unreliability have become an issue with WCJ...but his strong rebounding would certainly be missed.
