Not good imo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No bench!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!According to Gilbert Arenas, players in the NBA get injured frequently because they often go from minimal training to playing high-intensity games immediately, meaning their bodies aren't adequately prepared for the sudden strain, and they frequently play through injuries without proper recovery time, leading to further complications; he also criticizes the lack of sufficient game-speed training during pre-season compared to the intensity of actual games.
Key points from Arenas' perspective:
Lack of proper preparation:
Players might not be adequately conditioned for the demands of a game due to a lack of high-intensity training during the off-season or pre-season.
Playing through pain:
Athletes often feel pressure to play through injuries, even when not fully healed, which can exacerbate the issue.
Intensity gap between practice and games:
Training drills in practice might not replicate the same level of physical exertion as a real game, leading to unpreparedness when facing high pressure situations.
“The reason you guys are getting these dumba** injuries is you guys are going from zero to 100 real fast,” Arenas said on the 'Gil's Arena' podcast. “You're starting off in the preseason, not really getting into condition.Dec 10, 2024
Lets just hope that our Knicks are getting in shape with all of these mintues and will be stronger than the rest of the contenders come
play-off time..
In the mean time -I think some of you should check out the^ video to gain a deeper perspective on the matter...
It makes sense. It's a good reason why you need guys who have good regimens in the off-season who come into camp ready to be put through their paces.
I did like that OG demanded a stretching/yoga specialist be added to the staff. You do have to tailor routines to body types as well like Gil was saying about Zion being a linebacker without a training regimen.
Where did you hear OG asked for that? In the video or elsewhere? I always wondered if he needed that for injury prevention
