Not saying they haven't had a better one at some point during a season just that they currently have the 2nd best.

Yall think the 2025 Knicks will be better than the 2024 Knicks?

In the 4 seasons Thibs has coached the Knicks they were around .500 until new years day and in 3 of those seasons they went to the playoffs. Twice getting home court advantage and once the 2nd seed in the conference.

Even that other season they finished pretty strong, winning 14 of 21 games but losing 14 of 17 right before that was too much to overcome.

If you are asking, can the Knicks be better for the rest of this season in 2025 as they have been for the beginning of this season in 2024?

I don't know but history tells us Knicks teams get better as the season goes along under Thibs, especially on defense, so it's not out of the question.

This season, after 11 games the Knicks were 5-6, the Cavs were 11-0 and the Thunder were 9-2. Since then the Cavs are 18-4, the Thunder are 18-3 and the Knicks are 19-4.

I'm not even looking ahead to next season, it's just about enjoying this team right now.

The moment The Timberwolves acquired Gobert was when they showed they didn't believe in KAT to hit this level of impact at the 5. Must feel good for KAT to show them they chose wrong.

Wolves fans must be absolutely sick.

Wonder how much of born-again KAT is Thibs. He does seem to be the best big-man head coach. And maybe has figured out how to get the defense decent with a few nips & tucks — which was needed bc KAT is a 5 on off.

Kat had plenty of stretches where he played this well in Minny. He also has plenty of stretches where he doesn't play so well. He isn't all of the sudden a different player. Like most players in the NBA, he has hot stretches and cold ones.
New York said Mitchell wasn't the guy you trade the sink for, then they traded it for Mikal, lol.

I don't think they necessarily chose wrong when they traded for Gobert. He is a generational defender and a high-impact player, and the Wolves reached the Conference Finals for the first time in 20 years with him as their center.

I agree that KAT's best position is the 5. All the metrics support it. And I think KAT could absolutely be the starting center on a Finals team. But trading for Gobert led to their most successful season in two decades - even with playing KAT out of position (a testament to his versatility and team-first mentality).

The real mistake was trading away KAT, and prioritizing keeping McDaniels and Reid (and Gobert) over him. That was a massive blunder.

I think it's the way Mazzula approaches the game offensively. Boston instill so much fear with their 3s that the fear itself overpowers even the math. Which is why his team keeps shooting 3s even when they're missing them. He wants defenses to fear the deluge so they keep overstretching. Maybe I'm talking out of my azz, but it's what I see on the rare occasion I watch the Celtics play (also based on his interviews).

Walker Kessler, Malik Beasley, Jarred Vanderbilt, Beverly
Four firsts
play towns out of position and can’t afford to pay him
All this for a 10 and 10 rim runner making 200+M
The first domino led to the next
I hope that WCF appearance was worth it cause they ain’t going back for the next decade

I've watched every game of his career and can confidently say this is the most dynamic and decisive he's ever looked imo, particularly with his passing out of the post and managing double teams. His Turnover % is also the lowest it's been since the 2017-18 season. He's always had the talent and capability but never this level of comfort and decisiveness to his game, nothing looks difficult right now offensively.
