Through these videos I have learned that the Wizards re-upping Keefe as Tank Commander has done more harm than good.

Plus others I’m not listing because some are offensive to people. Including those who don’t even follow basketball.

I often get the feeling that he is more about theatre than basketball analyst. Hard to listen to him when I sometimes wonder if he believes what he says or if it is a desperate need for attention.

He probably thinks Dan Hurley and Shaka Smart are overrated NCAA coaches, too.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

He is definitely leaning into the clickbait titles for the youtube algorithm. I doubt he thinks Pop is a fraud. There is some good analysis in his videos though.

Watched 6ers-Spurs game last night (a day or so after it happened).

Never seen a reinstatement after an ejection.

The thing I noticed watching the Drummond and Wemby kerfuffle
was that Drummond, a couple times, stepped on Wemby's feet which combined with what otherwise
would have been not exceptional pushing caused Wemby to fall.

Maxey ultimately saved the 6ers after Embiid lost it and got tossed after whining about a correct charge call.

Castle looked pretty good. The French guy for the 6ers
was indispensable for them.

In 2028, the Wizards have the right to swap the lesser of the nets/Suns picks. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Russ is an amazing player. I couldn’t stand him before he played for us, but one year with him gave me an appreciation for his competitiveness and honorable nature. Now I root for him wherever he is.

It’s kind of the opposite of MJ. Where I didn’t like him before he played for us simply because he destroyed my teams. And then felt dirty rooting for him when he did play for us lol

That's an eff-ton of 2nd round picks we're getting down the road from PHO.
And eventually, Durant will get old, maybe all of a sudden... so the first round swap
could be nice but it's only valuable if we're better than them at the time. We're not there yet.
No telling when we might be. But assets are assets.

Repeating myself, but I’m OK playing necromantic jockey.

The pick swap has value as soon as Phoenix misses the playoffs. Even if they are the 9th seed but get bounced out of the play in games.

At that point every lotto combination they own belongs to us. You only swap picks after the lottery. Before the lottery, they are not picks. They are combinations. Potential picks.

In other words, if we normally would have a 14% chance of winning the top pick and Phoenix has a 5% chance, then all of a sudden we have a 19% chance of winning the top pick.

It can make difference between us having a better than 50-50 chance of falling out of the top four, and having a better than 60% chance of landing in the top four. Depending on where we land and how many lotto combos they get.

Every % matters when you’re trying to land a franchise player at the top of the lotto. Especially now that the odds are flattened for the top losers. If we are tied with the other cellar dwellers we get an advantage over them. Because if PHX bucks the odds and their combos win, we have the right to swap.

watching Suns@6ers

no Embiid but 6ers ahead.
Suns trio of KD, BB and Booker not impressive in a good way at all.
Noticed a convo recently re the Suns and our picks over the next few years.
Encouraging in a good way for Wiz fans.

Beal's contract is a huge albatross. He's not close to a $50M player.
KD doesn't look close to like he did 5 years ago. Very ordinary.
Suns running ex-Wiz Tyus Jones and Monte Morris as their PGs. Ironic.

PS - it's early Suns could still win. I didn't check the score. Game already ended.

Minnesota beat the Clippers tonight, but they're in tenth place in the west. Julius Randle had only 5 points, 6 rebounds, with 4 fouls and 3 turnovers.

Whoever green-lighted the Randle/Karl Anthony Towns deal needs to be fired.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.
