Happy New Year

Favored to Win: Houston -5.5

H2H Record in previous 10 meetings: Houston 6-4

Both teams have lost two straight games.

The Houston Rockets are the better defensive team so our Mavs better be ready.

In less then 6 minutes, Sengun has been blocked pretty emphatically 3x. Talk about sending a message. Love the aggressiveness so far.

That Grimes back to back sequence of the acrobatic layup and then the step back 3 was awesome.

Kleber doing everything in his power to make sure he can't be traded...Guess we're gonna have to wait for another 20-30 games for him to have another good game

Please bench Gafford. He's making Kleber and Powell look more playable right now.

It's absolutely wild on how many small pump fakes will Gafford bite. No wonder his lineups had mostly negative NETrtg for the season. He's been really bad at defending the space.

After 3 Q's he is -27 in 12 minutes. That is an unbelievable horrible stat.

I am sure the opposing coach tells his players this: whoever is guarded by Kleber, pass to him and attack and go at him.

I don't expect us to beat the Cavs and Grizzlies.

Can we even beat the Lakers for god sake?

This losing streak is gonna hurt.

Pathetic performance. Honestly fed up with this team.

Shows how valuable Naji is and why he deserves to start over Klay

To me, it again shows the value of PJ. Prior to him getting that knee injury, it was a competitive game. Let's hope PJ isn't out for long or we're gonna have a hard time winning games with Maxi playing 25-30+ mpg.

I still have to understand Jason Kidd's qualities as a coach... if he has any... when we need the coach's hand it's always an announced failure.
He is the living american dream. A miracle man.
No coach skills. Zero.

However we play better without Luka, right?
He is the only reason why Kidd is still an NBA coach and not a MC Donald's jobber.
A lot of teams have injuries but good teams won games anyway.
We are a dead horse with a rotting jockey who smells like death. RIP Kidd.

About the game and the players, they sucked. All of them. But it's to judge when your first, second and third offensive schemes in the playbook are casual basket or iso plays.

It's not a surprise to see this team has a L streak when Maxi Kleber minutes are around 25/30... Some casual posters here understood that he was done 2 years ago.
Our supposed coach has still to understand it. Good.

Klay is excellent to do his job... If your coach tell him to dribble and create for other players the problem is not on Klay.
Even an alien from Mars knows how to use Klay Thompson in 2024 and where he is good or he is bad.

The narrative about Kidd makes experiments is perfect for cover his lack of coaching. Absolutely perfect.
But after 3 years it's time to open our eyes. He is just a mediocre coach with a huge luck.

Yeah agreed. THJ was in similar situation, he was tasked to do stuff he wasn't good at. Klay playing certain role he never played in his life at this stage of his career is also a huge question mark.

He even talked in an interview where he said, difference between GSW and Mavs is huge. GSW ran a ton of screens and motion offense while Mavs is just a lot of ISO's.

It's pain in the ass watching Dinwiddie dribble for 20 seconds before he decides what to do with the ball, i don't know how Kidd thinks this is a good idea. It's also interesting we had 2 users on this forum complaining about Doncic doing that but are quiet when scrubs like Spencer do it. It's just one is a top3 player while the other would be a top3 player only in China.

But hey, that's Mavs offense, what can we do? :-?

You said it all.

Kidd has no ideas, he just goes where players carry him... Obviously it's different when Luka or Dinwiddie do it.
This team has no identity without Luka because our coach has no identity too.

Remember guys, Avery Johnson was 2-0 in the Finals and won COY but he was a mediocre coach.
If it's a challenge i'm ok, win a title with Jason Kidd. Let's try. But it will be the hard way. I told you.

The injuries are piling up, it's truly frustrating. Our superstar leader doesn't take his physique seriously, so we're screwed right off the bat. The biggest knock on Lively in college was his availability, which has proven carryover. It's only a matter of time before Kyrie needs to sit; Klay is old; I mean, what can this team do?
