Bears Leadup

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Mon Dec 30, 2024 12:27 am

As of late Sunday afternoon the Commanders control who gets the 6th seed. If they win tonight and next week it's theirs. If they lose one we'd need to beat the Bears.

I'm guessing this will be a Sunday noon game.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I'd sit everyone. The benefit of pushing Philly off to a later round isn't worth the risk of injury to key guys. Besides I think we can beat the Bears with our backups

Curious if the staff thinks there is a tactical advantage to waiting until Sunday to announce the starters will be inactive, and spend a whole 2 weeks secretly game planning for Philly.

I do too. Malik is capable. So are our backup RB's. Give Musgrave more snaps than Kraft. Sit Jaire and Watson regardless of their status.

I definitely don't think MLF will give anything away during the week. Media is not allowed into practice, only warmups. Keep everything under wraps. If Washington wins tonight they go to Dallas next week. Cowboys may want to play spoiler but they rolled over today in Philly.

Rest all your difference makers, regardless.

Seeing how one guy’s absence can make or break either side of the ball (Jaire/Watson) screw the seeding. Only shot is miraculously putting it together health wise for a short stretch.

Commanders still need to win and have us lose to get 6 seed and they also play at noon. Packers won’t be resting anyone.

If Washington beats Dallas they get the 6 seed

Yeah sorry I wrote that incorrectly. I meant Packers will not rest anyone because they could still get 6 and play at the same time as Washington.

I personally dont see how risking your key guys to injury is worth the benefit of the slight chance Washington loses and even if that happens all you're doing is pushing back when you'd have to play at Philly. I think this is a clear sit your guys week

As long as the Washington game is up in the air there's no chance they sit starters.

Yeah - they wouldn’t say it publicly but I guarantee they would prefer to not play at Philly to start the playoff run.

I would not play anyone, who cares #6 seed vs #7 seed. I want Philly in the first round. Want to go through Philly, Minnesota, and Detroit in whatever order to win the NFC title. I feel confident we will beat these teams if we face them in the postseason.

I don't see any way Watson, or any of the injured guys play.
