Now I get why he is so divisive! Half the fans and teams see him as offensively Kobe and the defense and turnovers they can live with if he just improves a little and stays this strong offensively. Other teams and fans say forget he can score 40 if he cannot stop someone from scoring 30. It makes sense both ways and it really depends on the coach and theories you live by as a team.
Would he be ideal in Miami? No, unless they needed that one stud scorer and they have everyone else a defensive dog as they pride themselves on D.
Would he work in HOU or BOS? Probably, but not as well within their defensive team philosophy.
Would he work on any D'Antoni team or a team that runs and guns and thrive offensively? HELL YES. He is the guy for that.
Could SAC or LAL use him to advance farther in the playoffs now? WITHOUT A DOUBT. But, since his value is highly debated AND as far as we know the Nets like him and kept him up until now to likely pay him something reasonable, then they aren't going to take any crap offers for someone who is a Top 5 scorer in 2 years in the league.

Re: Best offers for Cam Thomas
Black/Jett/Swap/pair of SRPs for Cam/Ziare could be interesting.
I was today years old when I learned that Cam Thomas can single handily win a round in the playoffs.
I was also today years old when I learned that only four players have been better scorers than Cam Thomas has been.
Its interesting that, despite having a guy that can add 15-wins to a team (as previously stated about Mr. Johnson), and an elite scorer that can win a round in the playoffs (well, unless by further you meant instead of being swept, a 4-1 series loss?), Brooklyn would be better than a combined 45-71 record and no play-in appearance (albeit, this season isn't done and they are 2 games out). This also isn't considering a C that can start on any team in Sharpe.

I think you mistook something huge here. This did not mean he's a Top 5 scorer today after 2 seasons it means by 2027-28 he can be a Top 5 scorer in the league once KD, LeBron, and Curry retire and Giannis is declining some or focusing more on his all around game as most players over 30-32 do.

I do not know what his value would be. But, I can tell you it would be higher than what you just posted. I just do not know how much higher and that is a fair and honest assessment.

Re: Best offers for Cam Thomas
He’s divisive because he’s an undersized, non-passing guard that excels at making difficult off the dribble shots. He’s a useful scoring role player that’s finally getting a much bigger role on a non-contending team. It seems like he’d be easy to scheme against in the playoffs, but to give CT credit, his elite skill is getting his shot off (and some nights, making them at a useful rate), so no one can be sure of that.
There are a number of players in the league of his archetype, but he may be the very best of them. It’s still a sketchy archetype in terms of contributing to winning.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s hard to win with his type BUT he’s actually very inexperienced as previous coaches didn’t play him much so still has some potential improvement

Zero chance the Sixers consider that. A two-way guard with three more seasons on a cost controlled contract versus the most one dimensional guard in the league who is set to be a RFA this summer. He can get on a heater, but he's allergic to passing and doesn't play a lick of defense.
AGree that McCain is more valuable than Cam, dont see why Philly would do it

This is all spot on.
At this point, I wouldn't be willing to give up assets for the right to pay him $25M+ per year just to find out if he can take the leap from undersized ball dominant 2 guard to elite scorer (which is a very hard leap to make). If he can't take that next big step, he's a guy who's best suited for a 6th man role making plus starter money.
