Last season only the Celtics averaged 40 3pt attempts per game.

No other team averaged 40 attempts per game from beyond the arc.

There were a number of Celtic fans who said too many 3s.

But the Celtics ended up winning a championship.

This season the Celtics are the only team to shoot 50 3s per game, but there are 5 other teams averaging 40 3s per game this season.

The game is evolving.

Celtics lost both games to Denver last season. Did that matter?

You think the Celtics have played championship style basketball? I don’t. Not shooting it well this year . Taking over 50 3s per game is not pro basketball.

PP doubled his 3 point output by 4.

Last season the C's were the only team with 40+ 3pa a game. This season there are 5 over 40 and us at 50. That's the way it's trending right now. Is it pro basketball? Right now it's a basketball thing. College is trending up that way also. Alot.

I haven't paid too much attention to 3pt stats, but it's obvious that Joe listened to the nerds and made the 3 ball the end all be all for the Celtics when he took over.

22/23 - 2nd in attempts and 6th in %. 23/24 - 1st in attempts and 2nd in %. 24/25 - 1st in attempts and 13th in %. (Not Good)

They've stayed pretty consistent when it comes to getting to the line, rebounds for and against and assists. Even giving up points they've improved.

With the way the trend is going shooting the 3, the C's have shot poorly especially Jrue, Al and JB. December was a terrible month shooting but defensively they gave up the fewest points as a team. There were snapshots of really bad defense, but the overall numbers defensively weren't terrible. Just alot of missed shots.

I think Joe missed a couple of good opportunities to let some bench guys change the trajectory of a few games the same way teams did it against us.

Shams Charania: Detroit Pistons guard Jaden Ivey has sustained a broken fibula in his left leg, sources tell ESPN. Ivey has had a career season for the resurgent Pistons in his third year, averaging 17.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4 assists. He exited Wednesday’s game on a stretcher.

If we don’t win this season does that mean we need to dial it back to 40 again?

Damn man!! I must be paying attention to injuries more as I age because it seems like EVERYBODY and their mother is getting tough nicks or worse. I’m begging for health for Celts and for every player!! This is getting ridiculous!!

I miss my buddy who would discuss Wemby on here. I know he’s a Spur, but I thought we discussed the good players here more. It’s mind-boggling how amazing he is and it’s not discussed here. We talked about Giannis a lot his first few seasons… probably because we missed out and we chose KO. I’m confused because he’s doing things never been done before and then you add his height? No one??

Is it because people don’t watch the game anymore? I can’t imagine not talking about Shaq if he was playing in this day and age. Maybe it’s because I’m a fan? I don’t want to go to the Spurs boards because I DON’T LIKE THEM!! I don’t dislike them, I’m just a Celtics fan, Idc about other teams or their fans! Matter of fact, if I go there and they talk him up, it might make me dislike him some. I have beef with all fans of other team, they don’t know what they are talking about because you’re crazy if you’re not a celts fan, PERIOD!! :)

I just need one of you to be on the same time as me!! I wonder if he has his own board? Does anyone know?

Wemby's very good, he's not a douche like Giannis and hopefully he doesn't force the Spurs to pay his brother to sit on the bench. :D

I've always thought that the Thanasis contract was a way for the Bucks to pay an above-grade salary to Giannis. Just my twisted mind of course, but come on, Thanasis was as much an NBA player as anybody on this forum.

The media/fans are addicted to drama and Wemby isn't. That's the biggest issue. Guys like him or Jokic and Tatum that just come in and do their job never get the respect/airtime they deserve. Instead we get forcefeed the latest dumb stuff Anthony Edwards said or Joel Embiid did.

It will be around 40 in the playoffs.

50 per game will not happen in the playoffs.

Jimmy Butler is not happy. "What do I want to see happen? I want to see me get my joy back from playing basketball." He said "probably not" when asked if he could get his joy back with the Heat.

Now it is official. I mentioned this a month ago. My friend is some sort of Miami insider and told me this. If Miami were to trade him they would be selling low. Don't see what teams can offer Miami in return. They should have traded him last year.

That's why this guy is a birdbrain. If he wants out, he shouldn't be making it even more difficult for his team to deal him.

Is he though ? Not that I condone that kind of action but by publicly asking for a trade he should be lowering his trade value and making it easier for other teams to pry him out of Miami.

We can make fun of the Heat all we want but there's a reason the Celtics play them year after year after year in the playoffs. It's because nobody else in the East can beat them in a series (admittedly it's a struggle for the Celtics most of the time too). I still trust Adebayo, Spoelstra and the rest of that organization to execute in pressure situations over like 12 teams in the East. I believe that's their thinking too and I doubt they'll punt on a season just to stick it to a guy that's out the door this summer anyway.

For the game thread...

Amen Thompson is OUT, Eason is DOUBTFUL, and Landale is QUESTIONABLE for the Rockets.
Watson, Davison, Scheierman, and Horford are all likely OUT for the Celtics. No word yet on JB and KP.

Celtics have won 7 of last 8 matchups vs. the Rockets.

Losing Jimmy for nothing in FA is bad management.

I think Miami can get Keldon Johnson, Harrison Barnes, and picks for Jimmy.

Even Denver can offer MPJ, Nnaji, and Saric for Jimmy.
