If Jimmy keeps his 52 mil, he has guaranteed money, while we are in the repeaters tax. Jimmy will take the 52 mil and make life very difficult for our front office.

He wont make life difficult. The heat can just sit him like Memphis did old Iggy. The Heat has been preparing for this. This is why you see so many young players. The build around Butler ended with Rozier neck.

Can they with the new rules? Won't they get fined for every game he doesn't play? The Iggy/Memphis situation happened before the new rules were in play.

First it was oh he’s upset because the team didnt shoot down the initial report (that he himself leaked to Shams) then it was “I appreciate the statement from Riley” that he wasn’t going to be traded. Now the straw that broke the camel’s back is the imaginary officials that implied he didnt play hard. Like a broad looking for any reason to go out the door, for every solution there will be a problem.

They aren’t going to make a trade to make a trade. They won’t take on long term salary unless it’s someone they really want as part of the new core.

My gut is they send Jimmy home and let him watch the rest of the season from his couch.

Also Jimmy just played his hand wrong. I think 80% of the fan base was on his side prior to tonight. That flipped and he just burnt bridges and made himself the bad guy again. Why do that to the only fanbase that still loves you? End on good terms and make Riley & Arison look like the bad guys. Bad move Jimmy. Good luck finding that contract this summer.

Or a battered woman finally deciding to get out of a bad situation?

Hopefully you guys get lucky like Minnesota did a few years down the road getting the #1 pick in a year with a franchise player, but it took going through some D-Lo years to get there.

Some team will come out and trade for him here soon just like Phoenix came calling for Shaq. They’ll take a decent deal that involves expiring’s that can help the team out this year and allow them how to proceed next year. What they won’t do is take on bad contracts

Guess you can say Rozier came just in the neck of time?

If you’re seriously going to equate this guy having the highest level of success in his career and collecting 230M in the process with being a “battered woman” then I really hope these are your last few days on this team forum too.

How would the logistics of a Fox trade go down? I dont follow Sac that much but i saw them come back and beat philly last night. Does he want out? How many years left on his contract? I know he a Rich Paul client and we made up with him so is that where the smoke is coming from?

Its probably best the Heat do not trade him at all. The only thing the Heat needs to do is make the playoffs while giving the young players some experience. Then they are in good position to make moves. Butler either he opts out the Heat can use the space if he opt-in then he is an expiring contract that will be valuable in the trade market.

Zero chance of happening. Kings are moving to keep Fox happy this year.

We likely need a 3rd team unless Sacramento wants to try it with Jimmy Derozan and Sabonis. 3rd team sends the assets for Fox in exchange for Jimmy

I’d kick the tires on Zion Williamson. His contract is amazing because of how it is structured it’s pretty much non guaranteed the next 2 seasons. He has to play in 61 games for it convert to guaranteed deal past 2026.

If you are moving Butler and looking at that 2026 window it’s a move that gives you a chance to hit big on the upside of a player with little downside risk. Would be an acceptable return for me.

Miami

Zion
Wiggins

Pelicans

Kuminga
JJJ
Larson
Schroeder
Payton II

Warriors
Butler
Love

Return to Miami Heat
