I've been saying that Houston should "upgrade" from Fred VanVleet and Jalen Green to De'Aaron Fox and Jimmy Butler. I know Rafael Stone said it's probably not going to be in season, and I agree with him because signing Jimmy in the offseason would mean fewer years and less money than if they trade for him to retain his Bird Rights.
But if the Rockets prefer not to wait, then I would say trade FVV and Cam Whitmore (who seems to be disgruntled in Houston) for Jimmy Buckets. Miami gets FVV to replace Butler (at worst, it turns into an expiring contract for the Heat) and a 1st round prospect from last year's draft class who can develop into a bucket getter.
Then trade Jalen Green, Reed Sheppard, along with Jeff Green or Jae'Sean Tate (via the non-taxpayer mid-level exception) for De'Aaron Fox and a minimum player (choose one from: Keon Ellis, Colby Jones, Alex Len, Doug McDermott, Jordan McLaughlin, Orlando Robinson). De'Aaron goes home to Houston, Jalen goes home to NorCal.

Why would the Kings do that?

Re: HOU-MIA-SAC
I don't mind this for Miami but I would require a first. Doesn't have to be a great one, but would need a first. FVV would be a half season rental. Cam Whitmire isn't who we trade Jimmy for.
For Sacramento, it's very off. Green is poison pill, very...boneheaded, according to Houston fans... and very difficult to trade, and Fox is going to cost more than this

Re: HOU with MIA and SAC (Butler and Fox)
I think Houston has the draft capital to make this work. So it could work if Houston felt like getting real aggressive and expensive.
But unless Sac is just full rebuilding, why not send FVV there? Green dumped on a third team.. More tax relief and long term savings for the other two teams..
I would try Fox to Houston, Butler and assets to Sac, and contracts and asset to Miami. Probably have to find a home for Demar, but seems like a base.

Re: HOU with MIA and SAC (Butler and Fox)
No interest in Butler.
Some interest in Fox, as a replacement for Green (not FVV) but it would need to be in the offseason.
The offer would be:
Green
One of Whitmore or Reed
3 picks, or 4 if they pass on Whitmore or Reed.
Amen, Jabari and Tari are all off the table, and I think Fred would then need to renegotiate for about 20m per year.

From Sac's POV -
If we trade Fox, I think we already have 3 good guards. Keon, Carter, Monk. Add in that ideally we move Demar back to the 2 at least part time if hes still on the roster.
I have no interest in Jalen Green. Reed is nice, but I'd want picks + Forwards as the main juice to the trade. Reed + Jabari, find a 3rd team for Jalen.

I can tell you right here and now that IF we decide to trade Fox (unlikely) that taking the young forwards off the table takes Houston out of the mix entirely.
We have no use for another scoring guard - too many already. We need a young big athletic PF and a wing. Add three or four picks to that - at least two GOOD unprotected ones - and a couple swaps and the conversation starts.
And I’m wanting Jabari as the core piece coming back.

Sacramento should ask for the world, but that doesn't mean they will get it.
Houston can be patient and isn't Fox or Bust.

A Fox to Hou trade starts with Jabari/Sheppard and 2 picks. How you get there salary wise is up to you, but the worse the salary the better picks or additional picks need to be.

Smith and picks makes sense as the base.

Keon Ellis might have as much value as Jalen Green to me at this point
