I have a thing called the pendulum I think? Friend took my fire sticks and gave me this thing. It worked better than the sticks but, I never updated it and it just sits in a drawer. Is that good enough or? I remember doing the install with my boy over the phone back then and it really wasn't that hard. I just never got into it.

never heard of pendulum and google search didn't help either. not sure what that is.

Sorry.. the pendant

that's another version of amazon firetv whatevers. I'm not sure if that's still powerful enough, depends on how old it is.
but yeah, it's the same basic premise of setting up any other android based box.

There's a few different onn ones. One looks like firestick another looks like the pendant. I assume the third one a saw which looks like a beefy pendant is the one you're talking about?

My daughter wants to cut the cord now because she's pissed about no Islanders and Knicks games. I'm gonna learn by setting her up I guess.

the one that's $50 (new 2024) that's the one I can vouch for. it's a really great value imho.

input this into search on walmart "Google TV 4K Pro Streaming Device (New, 2024)"

your daughter has fine taste in basketball and hockey teams bruh

edit: you know what, I'm sure the 2023 would handle it too if you want to keep it on the cheap for $20
the new one has voice search, a light up remote, and much better specs in general worth the extra bread.

Would it be better to get the Nvidia shield thing or whatever they have? I know it's more money but it's all similar set up just different specs/apps etc?

Direct TV stream is your best bet. They also allow account sharing, my house, my sister, and my parents are all under the same account.

This is why viewership is declining

it IS a similar setup, and I have both boxes. they both use the same android apps. in the first post I recommended using the tivimate app as your interface.

the shield is great and I love it, but the onn box has impressed me for only being $50.
the shield might handle some gaming better, but I can't really comment on that aspect.

if you're just wanting it for iptv and maybe getting into kodi somewhere down the line, get the onn.
