Re: 2024 49ers Season
I never want to lose, but there's a pretty big difference between a win and a loss this week. If we win, regardless of any other outcomes, we move from 11th to 12th in draft order. If the Cowboys also lose to the Commanders, we'd fall to 13th. And if the Colts lose to the Jags, we'd fall to 14th. In this draft, it seems like that could be a pretty big difference in the caliber/position available.

If Saints win and 49ers lose, who gets the 10th pick?CrimsonCrew wrote:I never want to lose, but there's a pretty big difference between a win and a loss this week. Saints. Their SOS is much weaker than ours. We would get the higher pick in round two.

Tankathon mock draft has the 49ers taking Banks, OT out of TX with #11.

That'd be great if he's there. Definitely one of the four or so guys I'm eyeing.

Seems like a popular player mocked to the 9ers.
I tend to agree with the mocks because picking up an OT kills 2 birds with one stone where you upgrade RT in the immediate future while having a guy you hope to slide to LT once Trent hangs it up.
Brendal needs to be replaced but I'd imagine that will come as a FA or maybe the feel like a guy like Felciano can slide over and do it. Shanahan definitely prefers a vet at the position so I doubt we'd draft a C with the intention of playing him as a rookie.
LG is another spot that will have to be addressed but it'll be something they look at in the later rounds like Puni or maybe they feel like Felciano or even Bartch who looked promising before he got hurt.
If they don't take an OT it'll definitely be a DL. My guess is they will lean heavily on drafting defense and more specifically defensive line. I think we'll look at LB early as well because even if they resign Greenlaw they still need an adequate backup because the chance Greenlaw plays a full season is basically nil.

Kyle's offensive system doesn't need big name O Linemen to thrive. We need to fix our D first.

I still don't understand why Feliciano was out all season. Did he try to come back and injure himself again?

Feliciano cant be any worse than Brendal

Not cause of Trey Lance. The Commanders are playing light passing defense to make Trey look good, hoping the Cowboys would resign him. So noble of them!RIPskaterdude wrote:Cowboys winning is a good thing

To be fair to Trey, he is playing with backups across the board on offense, since everyone here uses that excuse for Purdy.

A fake punt completely fools our vaunted ST again? No way, our ST coach is the best of all time!
