Grady Dick vs Jett Howard
Neither one of them did anything impressive.
I can’t say after watching that.

Jalen Suggs is in more pain than “Wince Carter” and so I dub him “Wailing Suggs”

If Suggs is out for any length of time... dude what in the hell is happening this season. We going to have only 6 guys available soon.

Games are so much easier when you're hitting shots

Box-score thoughts:

Orlando lost the FG% battle but (easily) won the game. How?

Three-point percentage. Of all the stats to hang a win on. Yes: shooting matters.

There were 18 blocks plus steals for the Magic, and only 11 TOs.

Very, very low fouling game, by both teams.

Incredibly strong stat-lines from the bench, collectively: points, assists, and rebounds.

This is the sort of road-win the Magic need night in and out to get home-court in round1 of the playoffs. This was a quality win!

I was pleased to see the minutes Joseph put in. At least for one game, having a 4th string PG helped out.

Suggs plays basketball as if it were a rugby match. Would any of us be surprised to read "career-ending injury" at some point for Suggs, given his style of play?
He needs to be aggressive. But he is aging and will get a serious injury, sooner or later, if he does not adjust his intensity.

Any update on Suggs? I'm guessing we won't hear anything until tomorrow?

Probably more extensive imaging after tomorrow, hopefully its just "back spasms" as reported but wouldn't be surprised if he's out a while too

The news late last night was:
Fortunately, the injury appears less severe than initially feared.

The media quotes were that his back "locked up". That sounds like muscle cramps to me. The Magic have a nice hydrotherapy facility for this sort of thing. But yeh: I hope the trainers decide that Suggs should sit out the Jazz home game, not travel to New York, and be ready for the home game against Minny on 9 Jan. p.s. I have that Minnesota game mentally penciled in as the Banchero-return game.

Who here predicted that KCP would be our only starter playing left before AS break?

Coach Mos and Hank are probably suiting up with all these injuries

Just like how the team knows they can come back from 15, 20, 25 down to win a game, now they know they can hit 20 3s any game.

Can we get this man to the free throw line for some easy ones?

So we expect a 0 pts game from him the next?

Then a 30pt game after that?

Maybe they’re grooming Bo Outlaw for the job…sure he’s got ‘marble mouth’…but “organic development” in the booth too.

Paolo should play the moment he's able to play.

If that's Sunday, he should play Sunday.

Suggs... he beats his body up so badly with his play style that he actually does feel like a guy who would benefit from some time off.
Utah, we can probably beat without them. The NY game is a scheduled loss. We have like 3 days after the NY game to practice at home.

Barnes needs to be in a role where he's like the 3rd or 4th leading scorer on a team. His focus should be on defense, rebounding, and passing. The perfect stat line for him would be 14/9/8. He needs to be around a couple of allstars who score. He's more of a Draymond than a Giannis. The problem is that Toronto paid him like Giannis, so I'm not sure how that'll work out.

Kawhi, Haliburton, Anthony Davis, Ja Morant, Siakam, Lebron, Giannis, and Love are players who recently had back spasms.

Don’t be too dismissive…back spasms means nothing without the underlying cause…we don’t know yet…people on here ready to schedule his return date based on…nothing :noway:

People are trying to be overly dramatic. He strained his back when he did the 360 dunk, and it's causing back spasms. He just needs to rest.

As someone on the wrong side of 50 that gets back spasms multiple times for year, here's my recovery. Day-1 no movement (too much pain!). Day-2 candy-pop ibuprofen. Day-3 back at whatever stupid thing that led to the spasms to begin with (usually something in the garden or the chickens).

Suggs will be fine.`
