Post#1 » by Godaddycurse » Sat Jan 4, 2025 3:13 pm

Indiana out: Siakam, Jackson
Miami out: Butler

Why for Miami: stay competitive and balance their roster better
Why for Indiana: add a 1st option for playoffs if healthy and improve perimeter D

Turner/Bryant
Toppin/Walker
Butler
Nembhard/Mathurin

I don't think the Pacers would be up for adding Butler. They tend to have a more conservative approach to team building.

As far as the Heat, I believe them when they say they don't want long-term money. Siakam will be 32 and owed $100M over the following 2 years in the summer of 2026.

I think if Miami can get Pascal for Butler, you do it and trade Pascal after this regular season. Or just loop in a third team. Pascal feels like he should have more value than any of the other rumored offers..

I think for Indy, they are losing value already and that should be corrected.. but this should be Toppin and Pascal with another cheaper forward coming back. If you’re trading for Jimmy and giving him the opt-in extend 2 years.. They will need to be cheap in other places.

Siakam has to have more trade value right now, no? And he’s quite a bit cheaper, too. I just don’t see Indy willing to deal with Jimmy, nor willing to pay his future contract demands. They value the locker room chemistry too much, and probably won’t be willing to bring Jimmy into it in the midst of his combustibility.

Otherwise, Indy is definitely not going into the tax to do this deal, either, which this deal does.
