How do we think the Warriors rate Vucevic vs Brook?

And what do we think they’re offering for either?

I’m a huge Khris skeptic, I’ve been a tough critic since last off season. He turned it on in the playoffs and showed he’s still got some juice but we’re back to square 1 again by my calculations. Bobby Portis is insanely replaceable and could be an addition by subtraction, same goes for Brook Lopez imo. I have no problem moving all that usage into Giannis, Dame and Butler for a playoff run. I think it’s an easy sell tbh.

I threw out that Khris/Bobby/2031 scenario because I thought that might be enticing enough to the Heat to get him.

Am less sure it’d be worth it for us — though I agree with the crossroads situation you describe.

What if any protections there are on the 2031 first would matter as well as whether we’d be getting 2nds or other pieces back in addition too.

But more importantly if Jimmy is a part time player our regular season issues remain.

We also could find ourselves in a Phoenix situation with very expensive older players and no depth. I’m even less sure about a Dame for Butler structure but that wouldn’t be as much of an issue if we’d go that route.

2yrs 40m vs 1yr 23m is probably the big debate here plus whether or not you prioritize offense or defense.

Vucevic is the more skilled player but Brooks rim protection is probably the best attribute between the 2 and what they do best on the floor. Draymond can play a long side either one I’d think pretty seamlessly.

I have no idea what GSW wants to do as a franchise in general. 9th seed in the west, misfit roster with no real solid contracts to move and a transcendent player with maybe 2yrs left of shelf life.. your guess is as good as mine. Something around Brook and Wiggins I guess would be the starting point but as a 2nd apron team it’s ridiculously tough to make a trade match the way we have to.. plus I’m not sure I like the idea of eating Wiggins contract. GSW really is in a bad situation.

An all time great in Portland. A very good, not great, player with the Bucks.

Amick actually specified the Warriors want to keep Wiggins as part of where they don’t want Butler.

Rather they have a number of smaller contracts that could be cobbled together for someone like Brook (or Bobby).

In that case offering a young guy like Trayce Jackson-Davis or picks would be the main incentive.

I’d be more willing to pair Dame and Giannis with Butler and create that trio that I’d want to ride through the post season. I have the utmost confidence in those 3 to put it all on the line come playoff time to make it work and will us to wins.

Toronto took a shot on a disgruntled Kawhi who held San Antonio hostage way worse than what Butler is doing in Miami and it paid dividends as we all know. I find this situation somewhat similar and think it’s a well warranted desperation move to give us a real spark heading into the playoffs.

I’d hope the 2031 1st isn’t even part of the equation truthfully. Brook is a 23m expiring and Khris could opt out and walk or at worst is only on the payroll for 1 more season so Miami is getting exactly what they want. No real long term salary and they can sell to their fans they’re getting an all star Khris Middleton in return for disgruntled Jimmy Butler. Again, similar to all star Demar Derozan and Jakob Poeltl for Kawhi and Danny Green. The parallels between that trade and this Bucks idea are right there… It cost Toronto an additional protected 1st round pick but Kawhi wasn’t 36yrs old, he was like 28yrs old and already a finals MVP.

I wish we kept Jrue and could somehow trade Khris for Jimmy.

Jrue, Butler, Giannis would be unstoppable

Yeah, it's all perception. Dame is at or slightly above his career averages in all categories. In Portland, those numbers are considered all-time great numbers. But in Milwaukee they don't look quite so great when you compare them to Giannis' numbers.

Kidd is not a great coach, probably Rivers is better or they are in the same ballpark
We have Giannis and Dame they have Doncic and Irving. I prefer our guys

Dallas made a run last year after the traded for Gafford and Washington. We don't have to get an all star if we get a couple of guys that can play defense and fit around our stars.

And treating Bobby Portis like he's Drew Eubanks.

In Portland, it's was never about winning a Championship. Here, that's the only goal, and why Dame's stats before wins approach is hated by those who understand what it takes to win and win big. Dame is great if you don't care about what the score is after the game is over.

For those that realize things like defense and even body language matter, it's past time to take advantage of the fact that Dame's trade value likely greatly exceeds his on court value.

Dame’s raw stats all look great. But his impact on the court isn’t what it was in Portland.

This is very similar to when we dealt for Gary Payton. The guy’s stats were all there. But he wasn’t the same player. And we learned that the hard way.

The only thing that matters is winning a championship and the fact is we're further away from it than before acquiring Dame, its not derangement he's just not that guy and the fit never materialized. The thought was we could give up a little on defense but we'd have this all time GS tier offense that would overwhelm teams because surely Dame would do better with better teammates? Wrong! He is not effective without pounding the air out of the ball and looks for his own shot first, his defense hasn't improved even tho the excuse was he couldn't give effort there before he carried such a load offensively in Portland. He's still a scorer and maybe on a bad team he could put up 30ppgz but that's not what the Bucks need.

I have always felt he was overrated. Fringe all star for me. He has always been a disaster on defense. I still hope it turns here though.

That is exactly what happened last season though.
