Re: PG: Bulls On Parade
Getting rid of thibs is the next big hurdle. Even if we hire a an even worse coach after it’ll be easier to get rid of that one once we know who our next guy is
Right now the team has invested too much time and money into thibs so the FO is holding back. He should’ve been canned a long time ago. Right after playoffs would’ve been great.

Re: PG: Bulls On Parade
The idea that this is about "the Knicks have no bench" is pure fantasy. Could their bench be better? Absolutely. Is their bench going to carry the team to wins on their own? Of course not. Are they going to run negative +/-? Probably. But they have a full bench of guys who can give you 12-15 minutes a game, without question.
We've highlighted multiple instances of other teams in the league being down MULTIPLE STARTERS this year, and still managing to field 9 and even 10 man rotations getting at least double digit minutes - often with g league dudes basically right off the street.
Tom Thibodeau is the only reason "the Knicks don't have a bench", because they actually have guys who should be logging minutes. The coach actively chooses not to let them, and this isn't a surprise or new thing - he's had a reputation for it his entire career. He's doing what he did before he got here, after being hired, and he'll keep doing it. It's literally a foundational tenet of his personal coaching style.

Thibs is our Mark Jackson. We need to bring in our Steve Kerr (Dan Hurley?)

Oh, and your periodic reminder that Thibs' brand new 3 year, $24M extension doesn't even start until next year.

All you guys calling for Thibs head all of a sudden are delusional. Leon will never get rid of him and we're stuck with his BS minutes problem for his duration here. Season after season we're going to be limping into the post season while the smart teams have fresh horses. I've accepted it by now and just pray for no major injuries.

Precisely.
Depending on the severity of KAT’s injury, this could present as a bit of a rock bottom for the idea that Thibs’ strategy isn’t working. Maybe someone taps him on the shoulder.
It’s really one of the most peculiar situations in sports.

Our insurance policy probably drops by $10m per year if we oust him

People don’t seem to understand, it’s not just a Thibs philosophy, it’s an organization philosophy to try and win every game. More than half the nba doesn’t take back to backs seriously and just rest 3 plus starters and just take L’s. This is partly why the nba as a whole is having issues. If you don’t want thibs playing his starters so many minutes than leon needs to step in and save thibs from himself and sit guys on certain back to backs. Losing the battles to win the war like 90% of the league. The knicks should be commended for probably being the only team to still have this philosophy.

The idea for many to fire thibs is ridiculous. For the last several years thibs has by far gotten the most out of all the talent he’s been given and every player that comes to the knicks have had a huge jump
In improvement, from Brunson to hart to OG to now towns. To assume whomever comes in means all these players that have thrived under thibs will just maintain their excellence is foolish

Down 15 and the starters were in, Rose's knee injury happened down 12 with a minute and change left. This dumb ass has learned nothing.
He is a problem. It's never gonna change either. I'm ready for a new HC.

Didn't watch the game, but this is **** coaching malpractice. Game out of reach, on a back to back, KAT just played 42 mis prior. Why is he even in the **** game?

I see what you’re saying, and I agree with much of it, but the recent couple of games has really shown a lot on one specific thing.
When we were winning and not accruing injuries, we could ’accept’ his mad scientist approach. But when we are losing in the manner that we are with a largely healthy roster, that’s where we have a problem.
Our starters cannot perform anywhere near their best in the last 12 to 15 minutes of any games.
He is clearly pretty well liked around the organisation and by the players. So that makes it all the more interesting on what next. I’m not specifically saying we need to fire him but I would rather him not be here if he is not going to expand from this current approach.

I hope out of self reflection for the players careers killing crimes he's done Thibs resigns in the next few days
Seriously how does he keep getting support from people around him??? He's not even a good defensive coach anymore, he's sure as heck never been a good offensive coach... he's just not a good coach anymore to justify this 8 man rotation year after year any longer. He's not a Spo who can still coach a dysfunctional team to a 6th place in the East or a Lue who can coach a starless team to 5 games above .500. If Thibs had a Heat team this year, or a Clippers team, it would be 15 games below .500 today. He's just not competent. You can't convince me someone who doesn't have the most basic concept of fatigue can coach at ANY LEVEL.
Leon's next challenge is to fire his best buddy, and do what's best for the team. What's happening in front of anyone who has any ounce of passion invested in the team is obvious, the "D-Rose injuries" CANNOT CONTINUE AND MUST STOP. I have faith in Leon.

Yeah. I'm not gonna hold my breath but, another season of the players dropping like flies? Idk. One would hope they intervene on some level. It doesn't matter who the players are, Thibs just doesn't play his bench. It's insane.

Regular season wins/losses don’t mean much, this team will be a top 4 team in the east. Once the playoffs start, there are no back to backs, usually multiple days off between games. Said this before the proper plan should be start resting players on back to backs like the rest of the league. Sit brunson and OG, then rotate and sit Hart and Towns. My biggest issue isn’t the amout thibs plays his guys, it’s the organization’s decision to try and win every night. They are behind on this with the rest of the league

The media should be asking Thibs about the starters' minutes but either they don't know how to phrase the question or they are afraid of asking altogether
