Memphis probably not given the 27 1st (heavy protection if we did) Miami likes Konchar and I have no understanding why Wsh is in this deal they should be removed. Send Konchar to Miami and Expiring Luke to Pelicans. Miami would need to add a pick or pick swap to Pelicans to make up for the Memphis 27 1st being removed.

To keep both Memphis and New Orleans out of the tax (as per Fanspo)

To the rest of your comments: Miami isn’t adding a pick here. And the Grizz are giving up a bunch of rotation guys for Jimmy Butler. They owe significant pick value to equalize. Two 1sts and two 2nds is quite reasonable.

Grizz Trade: Smart/Clarke/Kennard/Konchar/Laravia 25 1st
Receive: Jimmy Butler/Burks/Theis/Larson

Miami Trade: Jimmy Butler/Rozier/Burks/Larson/2 2nds or Pick Swap
Receive: Brandon Ingram/Smart/Clarke/Konchar

Pelicans Trade: Brandon Ingram/Theis
Receive: Grizz 25 1st/ Terry Rozier/Luke/Laravia/Miami draft compensation

Each team wins this trade.

Miami isn't including Larsson. You can take Love. We're not in a position to be giving up young talent.

By "nothing," do you mean the $52M he's owed for next season?

Well whether he opts out or not, that Memphis package is a load of nothing.

What realistically do you think Butler is worth?
That package includes legit rotation guys and guys who can start.

It's nothing but role players. We're due draft capital. Check out James Harden's trade from Philadelphia to the Clippers - very similar circumstances.

Harden was two years younger then and was still playing at a star level. I don’t think it’s at all similar.
Butler’s durability, age, and decline affect his value. You don’t know what you’ll get…maybe one playoff run? Maybe more. Maybe nothing.
The OP did throw out the idea of draft capital. I agree that something more might be needed. 1 first? Maybe two with protections.
I am genuinely curious to see how this shakes out but I will be surprised if Miami gets more than a package without bad salary, that includes a couple useful players but no star potential and one or two firsts.
I really think they will end up with less than that but who the heck knows. I think a big issue is that there won’t really be a ton of competition for him. GSW, maybe PHX and maybe Memphis? I do t see any other teams getting in the mix. Maybe someone comes out of left field.

Did you not read what I wrote?

The Harden trade was two first round picks, two seconds, and a swap.

We're on the same page here. I'm not expecting more than that.

All right, apologies. I interpreted your statement about “nothing but role players” in that you expect Star potential.
I think the OP with a pick added would be a fair package. Like I said if it’s two picks there needs to be protections imo.
I think we are close on value but you are expecting a bit more maybe.

What are Brandon Clarke and Marcus Smart worth and who would want them?

Clarke to Team X
Smart to Team Y

I like this trade a lot if Smart and possibly Clark can be moved to 3rd teams. Mem needs to include draft capital to Miami though.

Ideally Butler would decline his $52m option next season and sign a longer deal at slightly less per year to keep MEM out of the tax.

Marcus Smart to Orlando for the Nuggets 1st, Gary Harris and Cole Anthony?

Which fourth team would give a 2026 expiring for Anthony and Clarke?

Would the Grizz need to add one first or two?

First, Memphis isn't trading Bane. Second, Miami isn't benching Herro.

I don’t think Smart or Clarke have any positive value to return draft capital. Best case scenario is probably worse players on expiring contracts.

Maybe Detroit would take Smart if they’re still trying for the playoffs? They just lost Ivey for the year and they have THJ expiring plus lots of cap space still.
