In improvement, from Brunson to hart to OG to now towns. To assume whomever comes in means all these players that have thrived under thibs will just maintain their excellence is foolish

I see what you’re saying, and I agree with much of it, but the recent couple of games has really shown a lot on one specific thing.

When we were winning and not accruing injuries, we could ’accept’ his mad scientist approach. But when we are losing in the manner that we are with a largely healthy roster, that’s where we have a problem.

Our starters cannot perform anywhere near their best in the last 12 to 15 minutes of any games.

He is clearly pretty well liked around the organisation and by the players. So that makes it all the more interesting on what next. I’m not specifically saying we need to fire him but I would rather him not be here if he is not going to expand from this current approach.

Regular season wins/losses don’t mean much, this team will be a top 4 team in the east. Once the playoffs start, there are no back to backs, usually multiple days off between games. Said this before the proper plan should be start resting players on back to backs like the rest of the league. Sit brunson and OG, then rotate and sit Hart and Towns. My biggest issue isn’t the amout thibs plays his guys, it’s the organization’s decision to try and win every night. They are behind on this with the rest of the league

Agreed on mid season wins being not particularly important.

But you can poke holes in pretty much every aspect of Thibs’ approach.

His style offers no contingency against things going wrong ie injuries.

The other night, for example, Cam was a starter when previously it looked like he was on the outer. There is a lack of consistency in bench development.

We need plan A, B and C to be a legitimate threat. Right now he’s got one approach.

It is only January 5th & players are starting to breakdown.
Not just starting 5, we all are getting exhausted by Thibs.
Get this man some help either personnel or medical.

"Our bench stinks, our bench stinks."

Remember last year when Hartenstein & Deuce (I'm sure there's one more player I'm forgetting) weren't seeing minutes until the injuries piled up.

Kolek has impressed me with the few times I've seen him on the floor. He only gets 2 minutes? Play the rest of the bench, Thibs!

I have noticed something. Perhaps not people are paying too much heed just because

Brunson is being scored alot. Like way too much. Wonder if they could fix this

In all fairness to the coach, he has created a beautiful offense of cutting and passing, while defensively there are many, many good signs.

My understanding is that Brunson is playing with a sore foot. If that’s the case, that would explain why he’s getting beaten on defense more frequently.

Any sane NBA coach would single him out. He’s our weakest link on defense. I still love this team.

To those of you thinking that since we don’thave regular practices more game minutes is ok, try to understand that an NBA game every other day is NOTHING like a practice.

You want proof?
Your eyes.

Hopefully Thibs didn’t just throw away this AND next season by injuring KAT.
And on Derrick Rose night no less.

Thibs breaking players already. The man won't use the bench. Even on a back to back.

Maybe thibs does believe in the bench. But perhaps he leaves dem starters inside way too long is because he wants to keep the advantage of starters vs the other team's bench guys.

Deuce is out. Deep.in the bench are players worse than Payne and Shamet. Our bench isn't strong and so Thibs overrelies on his starters.

He is. But he’s our captain and a top NBA PG. He’s also been among the top players in the league in drawing charges. We also have 2 NBA all league defenders (OG and Mikal), another excellent defender (Hart), and a 7 foot center who snatches 13 rebounds per game (rebounding = defense) surrounding HIM.

100% agreed. This team will be great come playoff time. Btw, I just checked: Towns literally averages 14.0 rpg, 1st in the league.

The thing with the bench isn’t just the starters getting a break. It also shows the other team a different look. Incorporating more players can make things tougher on the opponent.
I dunno.

I also think that we need to strengthen our bench. Is that Mitch and TJ Warren? I hope so.

I’m not sure what other options are available given the CBA cap rules.
