Miami has enough to likely get under the tax next year with smaller trades, so who knows if they do follow-ups.

But yeah, the Jak possibilities shoot up in this scenario. You'd have to think they're green lighting a couple years of tax in this scenario too from ownership. Maybe Bruce here too, but they're running out of salaries to trade with just Clarke/Smart as big ones to make it happen.

Miami has enough to likely get under the tax next year with smaller trades, so who knows if they do follow-ups.

If Bane goes out in a deal for Butler, Grizz wont be worrying about tax even with Butler extension. They are currently just under $30m away from tax next season, lose Bane and now they are about $65m below tax.

It is possible for Miami to duck the tax this year. I’d imagine that is going to be a goal. No one wants to pay tax and lose out on revenue share to make the play in. For Miami it is over a $50m swing ($13m salary + $25m tax + share of tax). They also have to be cognizant of the repeater tax as they were a tax team last year too.
