5 years is a rough estimation of the current team being blown up. Still have to either hit on a few good prospects. Or get another Jimmy butler to come along which seems highly unlikely in the current nba makeup

Re: 2024-25 Regular Season Thread Vol. 3
I know basically nobody cares, but Ethan mentioned that he was told when Butler came back, the New Orleans game that he was indeed giving effort for roughly 6 1/2 minutes and then things changed, Ethan mentioned he was going to go back and watch that, I went back and watched that first part of the game. Butler indeed was giving high effort especially on the defensive end (fighting screens, playing tough defense, he looked locked early on), the point that this stopped was after the start of the one legged 3pt shot where he once again was in the corner spacing (this is not how it was all game at that point) with someone with the ball on top and Jovic on the wing, Butler in the corner.
Before that possession where he did stop giving good effort, the only position he was put in to score is when he ran back after getting a rebound, passing to Bam and Bam passed it back to Butler after he ran back and got fouled going to the hoop, he was still engaged at that point. The rest of the time he was in the dunker's spot, the corner for spacing or going to the top of the key, getting a pass to hand off to someone than Butler diving to the hoop and then out to his dunker spot or corner 3pt shot. It did in fact looked like he was playing as a roleplayer.
Defending CJ off ball
Defending CJ2 off ball
Now, after the 1 legged 3pt shot (Butler started jogging back to play defense before it was to the rim) Bam did say something to Butler on the way to the defensive end which Butler put out his hands to his side, looked at Bam and said something. So while the narrative is Butler came back and dogged it is somewhat true but not in the beginning, it didn't start that way and for whatever reason Butler didn't have 1 offensive play called for him in the first 7 minutes of the New Orleans game. Butler's gone, the question is will Bam start dealing with this too although he won't say anything publicly about because he doesn't complain other than what he's been saying since preseason, Butler and myself have to figure out how to be agreessive in this new offense which he once again mentioned before last night's game about Butler.
I do think the offense is moving to more of a 3pt centric 3pt and with that Butler doesn't fit and possibly Bam and Jaquez Jr don't fit either and all 3 seem to be having offensive issues this ear, weird. All I'm saying is there might be more people moved other than Jimmy in the next year or maybe even later this season. Going with a 3pt shooting shot blocker as your center, 3&D roleplayers with 3pt high volume shooters is the way the NBA is moving and maybe Spoelstras hoping to be the 2nd team to decide to go all in (since the Celtics already got there with KP and Horford before that).

Last season Miami was #3 in the NBA in defensive rebounding percentage despite starting 6'5 Haywood Highsmith at PF for half the season. Top 10 each of the past 3 seasons.

What's gaslighting about providing tangible stats of EXACTLY what you're making some passive aggressive attempt to highlight as something that it's not?
Do you know what gaslighting is?
I'd say your attempt to emote about a couple instances where another team's player did their job and got a rebound to serve as some indictment on Bam's efficacy as a defender despite a career to the contrary is gaslighting.
The fact that the Heat are lacking clear identity right now is something different entirely. But go on. Jimmy thing has blown up and the Heat lost last night so enjoy your moment. Haters and doomers stand up!

Maybe not, the 5 out with a shot blocker seems like a logical way to go until the NBA addresses the 3pt problem (it's become too easy of a shot to give 50% more points to, not sure how to address it other than move the line further back). I think Spoelstra pushing that way is the right move longterm but they needed to unload Butler before that... although some of the fanbase would have disliked the FO doing that, having Butler force his way out, the FO is doing the right thing! I mentioned this possibly happening this summer after Riley went after Butler publicly.

Gaslighting, in this instance, are fanatics of a certain player, stubbornly narrating an idea that the player has no ceilings in the midst of the player being in a down year.
Your boy has underperformed all season in what was built in the offseason as his break out, leap year.

This shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone who watched post Terry trade lol. There’s one guy always sacrificing more than the rest but helping his guys out more than the rest and far more than they help him, it’s Bam. He’s said countless times he wants to play next to a big, nope. Wants to be featured more in the offense and get more shots, nope. Always sacrificing and he’s sacrificing for a mediocre team filled with mediocre one dimensional players and a fan base who drags his name through the mud every chance they get while stanning undrafted bums for making a shot here or there

I believe Ingram is a target. Thus it means NO is also dictating on how this trade gets done. I dont know what NO is looking for since they still saying they are building around Zion, which i find very skeptical.

Need the Bam we saw @ Boston in game 3 of the 2022 playoffs, it was such an inspiring game, and to this day the best game I've ever seen BAM play. I wanna see more of that from him.

My man I have done nothing of the sort. You're projecting like crazy and quite literally trying to gaslight me rn.
You're battling made up posters and narratives in this instance. Bam has absolutely underperformed. Where have I said otherwise or been hope trafficking? Is comparing Bam to Draymond Green hope trafficking?
I just don't live my life reacting solely to the 1 inch in front of my face without regard or thought for the whole picture.
Lord knows what fallacy you'll pull out next.

Now that we have punished Jimmy, we should prohibit Bam from dating. Sex is not helping him.
That new girl is killing his energy

Give him the ball, run plays for him with our “playmakers”, tell him you want him focused on scoring and you’ll get it.

We have had a good run the last 5 years. I don't think anyone expected us to have such great success immediately following the Wade era. 2 Finals appearances and 3 ECF appearances.

That bubble run changed everything. We went in like soldiers and reached another level. Set the bar for the rest of Jimmy era. Just too bad we overpaid for Lowry in hindsight might have been better off keeping gogi and precious but who knows.
