Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions
I’m prob Mr Boring/conservative on this front, but I think the logical play is to move Bobby if any moves are to be made.
He’s a stretch 4/5 that many teams could talk themselves into taking and making an impact. We could realistically get something decent back that could help.
I don’t see any deals out there for Dane/Brolo/Midds that help us in the short term.

Does it matter? We are not contenders anyways. Shuffling chairs didnt work. The big 3 really doesn't work anymore. Its more like the big one now. Time to blow it up.Plossum wrote:I’m prob Mr Boring/conservative on this front, but I think the logical play is to move Bobby if any moves are to be made.

This is getting so old.GoldenAntlers wrote:One thing to remember is that Middleton always looks horrendous to start and turns into Jordan in the playoffs. Every time one of the big three return it's about a two or three week lull until they click. It's rare they've even played together as is, so I don't expect them to be good yet. Which is crazy for players of their caliber, but that's the way it's been.
It still sucks to watch the process unfold though.

It doesn’t look good but I’m not entirely giving up on this team yet.
We’re not an ‘inner circle’ contender like say Boston, OKC, Cleveland etc are but I’d put us into the fringe/outer circle bucket (I.e we have a realistic chance to win but a lot has to go right for that to happen).
A shrewd move at the deadline could do wonders for the team. Bobby is the obvious candidate to use for said move. I don’t expect we’d get a massive return but Bobby has enough value to a desperate enough team that we could get something useful.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions
The Celtics just faced a team that plays defense and lost. The Celtics continue to shoot most of their shots as threes. They shot
46 of their 85 shots as threes. They are very beatable if you just guard the three point line. All they do is drive and kick. They shot 19% on threes today.
Don't write off the Bucks with ridiculous proposals that not only will never happen, but are beyond bad.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions
The Bucks were complacent after we won our ring.
We did make an aggressive move with Dame and failed fast with Griffin but have otherwise been complacent rolling with a rapidly aging core.
Even if this crew can get it together (if only with a move on the edges) the front office and ownership needs to hear fan discontent.
“Thank you Sir may I have another” will just pave the way for Giannis to demand out with the Bucks getting blamed and pressured to take whatever a preferred glamour market offers rather than best deal available.
Pretending like All-Star Middleton will come back or Dame-Giannis will be Kobe-Shaq won’t cut it.

My goal for the team is the same now as it was going into the season:
Develop the young players and hope the big three are healthy and playing good ball going into the playoffs.
These roller coaster threads don’t move me.

Giannis and Dame will thrive off of defensive stops to fast break run and gun -- and stand still 3 point makers. Trade all the slow cats.

But if we trade the slow guys, that's Dame. If you're hopeless staying in front of your man, you must be slow, because no winning player gets beat because he's lazy.
Also, there is no run and gun with Dame. He's only walks the ball up the court.

I can't stand Dame, but even i will acknowledge that this illness that both him and Giannis are coming back from has absolutely brutalized both of them. Dame has shot 28% from the floor the last 3 games. That's the part of the game he can actually get right, and likely will. Giannis only shot 57% at the rim the last 3 games. Sounds fine, but the Freak usually shoots high 70s at the rim. He'll finish again.
Bad news is Ajax is the newest victim to this virus. Considering his play style, he won't be useful again for a long while

Middleton for J.Grant. Blazers get out of a longer term contract and Bucks get more athletic and save some money this year.

Have you watched Grant this year? That athletism is slipping, and subsequently so is Grant's game. He's making just 38% of his 2 point FG attempts, and is playing replacement level basketball. Pass.

He also has 1 of the worst contracts in the league. Even if you view Khris as a negative, he might clear after this yr. Grant goes for 4. And at his peak, he was arguably still a role player, unlike Khris. That's what you're paying Khris $+ for.
Some just think the grass is always greener. Reality is we don't have a really bad contract - not Khris, Brook, or Pat. It's not some kind of reward to acquire 1. We should be ride it out on these, or go in the other direction, especially considering the apron.

I think realistically you have to give this big three one more chance in the playoffs. Maybe make a fringe move on the side to upgrade the roster. If we fail in the playoffs this season, then we absolutely need to trade everyone outside of Giannis and Dairy Bird in the offseason.

Jrue Holiday or Jimmy Butler have played in 4 of the last 5 NBA Finals. Almost 5 for 5 with the Heat losing game 7 of the ECF in 2002.
And Jrue Holiday & Jimmy Butler were a very large reason WHY those teams were in the NBA Finals.
Then why were you in favor of a Jrue for Dame trade?
Someone dug up rilamann posts from directly after the trade 100% contradicting his point here. You can change your mind on Dame, he has been a disappointment and we all miss the 19-22 era so I think that's why Jrue is getting a lot of love on the forum. Overall he wasn't very good for us in the playoffs and he's currently about the 6th or 7th best player on the Celtics. Horst traded him at the right time.
The reason we won it all in 21: Giannis, Mids, PJ, weak opponents with mediocre/bad coaches.

You need a bit of luck to go your way to win and we got just enough in 21. The AD and Kyrie injuries helped, Philly **** the bed vs Atlanta and Giannis miraculously coming back from the knee hyper extension all helped. Most importantly though is we stayed relatively healthy which has been the biggest Bucks killer since 21.

I think this is being overlooked, big time. The Bucks were playing very good ball up until the Cup and then Dame and Giannis get norovirus. It went thru my house around Xmas and I still feel like ****. I cannot imagine doing any type of physical activity a week later.

Probably the only team to have their best 2 players get it.
