Suns/Sixers/Rockets

Post#1 » by Mavrelous » Sun Jan 5, 2025 7:07 pm

Sixers trade:
PG13, min contract, OKC 26 1st, Clippers 28 1st, Sixers 29 1st (with the pick swap with the Clippers), 2nds

Sixers Receive
KD

Rockets trade:
Green, Green, Sheppard, Whitmore, Eason, Suns 25 1st (with the swaps), Suns 27 1st, best of Suns/Mavs 1st, 2nds

Rockets Receive:
Booker, OKC 26 1st (to resolve the Stepien rule), 4 min contracts

Suns trade:
KD, Booker, 3 min contracts
For
Their picks, Clippers 28 1st, Sixers 29 1st, PG13, Jalen Green, Jeff Green, Sheppard, Whitmore, Eason, 2nds

At the deadline, Suns dump the expirings they have for smaller expirings and reduce the tax bill.

Sixers get top 10 player and real difference maker, on the same salary slot of PG13
Rockets get thenmiasing piece a go to scorer at the position they are the weakest in.

For the Suns, there is no fixing the swap situation, but they have 2 vets, 4 young prospects, and they are no longer 2nd Apron team, a downfall will be less painful because they have their picks, they even have swaps on them.

Booker is starting to look washed, would not pay this much for him.

Rockets can take KD, Sixers can take Booker?

He certainly isn't washed. ft% is higher than career average, fg% is down, but 3 point attempts are up. 3 point % is a hair below his average. His team is not built for him.

Six first-round picks worth of value is too much for the Rockets to trade for Devin Booker or Kevin Durant. There are cheaper ways to upgrade the roster without destroying the Rockets’ depth and young talent.

for OP, I can't say it's bad, but it somehow feels cheap for KD. Suns get some cool pieces, but obviously can't house them all so another team would have to take like two guys and return one.

It's 5, they are getting a pick back, and Jalen Green is a bad salary.

I know they are in a bind, but I dont think Philly should shell out that many picks to turn one injury star into a better one

George and three 1sts for Durant or Booker is an instant yes from Philly IMO.

KD is carrying insane load, it not sustainable, but otherwise he's healthy, KD is 2 tiers above PG, I have this as slight underpay, but PHX are screwed and not in a position to play hardball.

I hear you, KD is definitley far and above PG13. Just would eb scared from Philly's side to mortgage that many picks given the ages/health of Embiid and KD. But makes sense and as a Mavs fan, would love to see KD go back East

Agree, buy they aren't giving their picks, only one belongs to them.
This makes them legit contenders IMO, and will allow Embiid to play 30% of games and still be good.

Dude Kevin Durant is OLD! He doesn’t return anything! The Suns would be grateful to get out of his contract.

Jalen Green certainly has his issues, but I think there are rebuilding teams that would gamble on him figuring it out for a first-round pick. His new contract kicks in next year, but it is only two years with the third year being a player option.

I stand by my position that it’s six first-round picks of value with the OKC pick factored in.

I know it’s a 2K trade, but it seems to make sense for all three teams.

Philly pays a good amount of draft capital, but they also clean up the PG contract (the last year) and get the better player..

Houston gets a superstar locked up through his prime.

Phoenix tries not to win another game this year and hopes Houston drafted well.

Bumping this since it’s from this idea..

How much value is needed if it’s PG and McCain for KD? Philly would not have to include their own future firsts at least. and could just enjoy the 2-3 year run and see how Joel looks in 2027..

And whether Phoenix keeps Booker and tries to keep winning or does the Houston part and tanks for a year.. McCain makes sense..

Yea Phoenix needs to include one or Josh, Allen, Royce. But that part can be figured out once Houston decides what direction they are going.

Probably trading Paul George to Detroit and trim the tax by 14+ million if you’re getting your 2025 first back from Phoenix..
