That SloMo contract is awful.

No way they get Vuc without a 1st with that contract.

His last year isn’t guaranteed. It’s really not that bad.

I have no idea what Vuc will return. But I am pretty sure that if there was a first available, Vuc would’ve already been traded.. and Chicago should accept market value/top offer at this point and move on.

I think GSW ends up the teams and Chicago ends up adding minor value to get GSW’s well protected first.

The two sides feel like natural trading partners right now.

Awful? 8.8 this year, 9 next year, the third year non-guaranteed. Doesn't sound awful.

As a Bulls fan, its hard to get salaries to line up with GS and come up with a deal that works for both teams.

I don't know much about GS's rotation so forgive me if I am way out in left field here. Would Looney + Schroeder + top 10 protected first for Vucevic work?

I wonder if Vuc has more suitors. If yes an overpay may be required.

I don’t see AK taking any contract past next year. Most likely he’d prefer 2nds with expirings.

I feel like

Craig, THT, Vuc for Slomo, Payton, Looney, top 18 protected first is a deal both sides should agree to. Maybe the first should only be lottery protected. Maybe it should only be one year, then turn into seconds. Maybe it should drop to lottery next year, then turn into a second.

I say top 18 is the best Chicago can do so pull the trigger and risk settling for two seconds.

But the base idea seems to keep Chicago under the tax and GSW under the apron.

You can complicate it with Duarte to Detroit for Moore to GSW, if Chicago is unnecessarily attached to THT or Craig.. or some other add-on that accomplishes the same goal.

But feels like a deal that should have already happened, so probably some reason it hasn’t.

Dubs def should get Craig.

If the 1st is lottery protected I think it’s fair with Bulls eating SloMo’s contract.

Live in SF and Dubs are my second team. I wish Dubs would make a trade for a real star to go with Steph to give them a shot. Vuc def doesn’t do that.

Because they won't give a 1st for vuc, even if protected.

If a first was on the table, the deal would be done already since the bulls are struggling to even get 2nds for vuc.

Probably flip Buddy for SloMo then. Contract only $3 mil guaranteed after next year

GSW could just go get Olynyk for a much cheaper price...12.5 million. A lot easier to match salaries and would give them a stretch C to playvwith certain lineups.

"IF" the OP was the actual cost, Raps would offer KO for GP2+Podz.

Why? SloMo is guaranteed $0 after next year.

Yeah, I think SloMo will have to be in the deal.

Prob Looney SloMo and filler with a small asset. His contract not being guarded in year 3 is helpful.

I'm still not convinced I like Vucevic for the Warriors, but this price seems significantly off. If it involved a protected 1st OR Podz I'd wince and at least think about whether it was fair. If a trade involved both, I'd instantly hang up the phone.

Yeah if there's a deal I think it probably ends up looking something like this:

Looney, GP2, SloMo, 2025 1st (somewhere between lottery and top-20 protected, then turns into 2nds)

for

Vuc, Craig

The Warriors wouldn’t have enough space under the apron to sign a 14th player. Replace Duarte with Craig and it works better for them.

Actually, they would. You may not be accounting for Looney's $1M unlikely incentive, losing that gives them an extra million under the hard cap.

Loon/GP2/SloMo for Vuc/Craig lowers our team salary by around $3M, which is more than enough to add a vet min player to fill the 14th roster spot.

I think they were talking about the original deal with Duarte.

Candidly I am a dubs fan low on Poddy … a guard whose greatest attribute is rebounding freaks me out. Lack of finishing at the cup, athleticism only showing on defense only… my original deal brings in other prospects … that could be on the floor with length and athleticism. So I would be in favor of a deal that added durarte or Terry over Craig
