Miami got plummeted by a rebuilding team tonight without Jimmy. Pat Riley will want the mother load for him, trust me!chefy wrote:What’s your opinion on Jimmy Butler? I dont mind getting him. I think Pat’s gonna ask for a lot from us tho.

Not able to trade Finney-Smith with other players. It's against the rules, my friend.
Pat Riley does want Gabe back!loveshaq007 wrote:Anderson Hunt wrote:loveshaq007 wrote:

oh wow... no way. welp it could be a blessing in disguise
the only maybe should be rui to trade. and players for sure that are expendable are vando, Gabe, hood, wood. hayes,
maybe we get involved in a three way and give Gabe and our expiring going to Miami.

This deal is good. It improves a clear area of weakness that should elevate our current ceiling, for minimal cost. Get a better backup C for salary and the remaining two 2nds we have, and I think we’ll be much better off
The point isn’t that you trade dollar for dollar expiring contracts. Easy example here if we went after jimmy butler: dlo, jhs, vando, and rui roughly salary matches jimmy butler and filler (obviously we would have to send out firsts). That’s just one bad contract being shipped out in vando. Now we would have to throw in Vincent and wood, which are less valuable trade pieces than dlos 19mm expiring, thereby making our offer less competitive vs other teams.
Does jimmy butler get us to the level of okc/celtics? Probably not, but there’s still like a 25-35% chance if he gets hot like he has in the playoffs before and/or reverts to form without all the drama. Goes dfs get us to the level of okc/celtics? Uhhh no. What are we playing for here fellas? We got max till next year w bron. You wanna be a guaranteed loss to okc or you wanna try for one last shot? Because if the former is the answer, why are we wasting our time watching games? You’re saying you’re ok with just running out lebrons career in mediocre fashion then sucking for several years after that. Just come back in 7 years then
The Heat is not taking back bad contracts. Most players you thrown out are one dimensuonal players. If they want to stay competitive this season, they are not taking Dlo unless they have an eye to trade him to a third team for upgrade and they may barely receiving some sort of DFS level player (non needle mover) in return at best. If you were Riley, will you do this trade?

You’re missing the point. The dlo contract rolls off whereas now we have to use Vincent or vandos contract in its place. If we are presenting an offer, the worth isn’t in any of these players. The worth is in the draft picks but also freeing up salary. I’m tired of explaining this point over and over in this thread. It seems multiple posters on here can’t seem to grasp the idea of relative value of trade offers and how an expiring is better than a non expiring deadbeat (Vincent, vando)

I think it is. He’s a brawny role player. Once he settles in and gets comfortable in his new offensive role, let’s hope he’ll flourish like never before.
Defensively, he’s already doing well. We’re +10 with him on the court. He leads the team in that category.
Rui's bargain contract makes him a keeper besides he has some big games on this team. He will come off the bench if not starting as opposed to being traded if that is what you are suggesting.SlimShady83 wrote:stan francisco wrote:Danny Darko wrote:Well, DFS seems to be struggling atm, but hopefully this is a break in period.

I didn't see the game vs Houston at work. But didn't Rui only get like 13 points 1 reb? DFS had 13 points 5 reb and plays good defense, he making Rui replacable

Scenario 1:
JHS + Wood + 2 FRPs
FOR
Kessler
Why?
Utah gets 2 FRPs. Lakers get their D big man and 1 open roster to sign Devonte Graham from SB Lakers while saving money.

Also DFS will be a UFA after this season and will probably demand twice of much as what Rui is making now which will take this team over the 2nd apron. If we can get a game changer like Kessler for DFS plus pick, it needs to be explored. DFS is just too old to be part of the future once Lebron retires.
You are not part of the team, so how do you know? If the Heat wants DFS plus fillers for Jimmy, the Lakers would pack his bag and fly him there in business class like pronto to seal the deal before Riley changes his mind LolKuzControl wrote:WentzerWuver wrote:Rui's bargain contract makes him a keeper besides he has some big games on this team. Lol we’re not trading DFS, and Rui is barely a bargain contract
