Re: PG: Bulls On Parade
4:57 - "so there's a substantial gap in workload between OKC starting lineup and the Knicks starting lineup... as a result, all of these effort and fatigue related battles started to go towards OKC in that 4th quarter. They started to win all the looseball battles, Isaiah Hartenstein got a huge save on a ball that was going out of bounds that led to Aaron Wiggins hitting a 3. The Knicks lost a huge offensive rebound battle late on the weak side where it was Josh Hart & KAT vs Isaiah Hartenstein and Aaron Wiggins and they just beat those guys to the spot for some etc etc... every Knicks jumper seemed to be short off the front of the rim down the stretch of the game, that's always a big sign that your legs are starting to get tired... Jalen Brunson who was doing a really good job handling pressure for the most part made a couple of really sloppy mistakes late in the game, the one in particular where he tried to fire that bounce pass to Josh Hart in the dunker spot, that one was obviously fatigue to me, it wasn't open. And when you see offensive players start to get rid of the ball even though people aren't open, it's a sign they're just tired. ... So, you can just tell that the fatigue element really started to work against New York."
Even to people who are not invested in the Knicks just a casual analyst, they noticed our team's overload.
I enjoy Timpf's analysis time to time

But we don't have that yet The reserves are pale imitations of the starters skillsets. Deuce, Payne and Shamet are all shooting points. Sims is a rim protector. Then Huk, Kolek and Dadiet are too young.egelband wrote:prophet_of_rage wrote:What different look? Our bench doesn't do anything better or differentnthan our starters. And that is by design sadly. Incorporating more players can make things tougher on the opponent.

A full second unit, I suppose. I know it’s not a revolutionary idea. Just saying it would do more than just rest the starters.

Too young ? I believe a rookie Tony Parker was 19yo when Pop made him the starting PG on the eventual champ Spurs team that season. Even old school coaches like Pop could adjust when the talent showed up and the team needed it. Don't tell me Kolek, Huk, and Pac can't play, they can when they're given pt !!
If Tony Parker had been given 1-2 mpg and played once in every 5-10 games, he'd average 1ppg too.

like when we fell in love with those gritty underdog teams that left it all on the court these last two postseasons. don't get me wrong, he has his flaws and his limits, but he's still a luxury brand coach and until someone better is available i'm grateful to have him at the helm. back before he was hired, my hope was that we'd choose jamahl mosley. maybe he can be thibs's successor

They dont want to hear this. Not even from the players themselves. They need to burn someone at the stake.
There's something about an underdog that really inspires the unexceptional.

Thibs taking a page out of Mike D'Antoni's Phoenix Suns playbook from '05
They ran a 7 man rotation with anyone else getting situational minutes.
It was only in '07 that D'Antoni extended his rotation to 8 players. That was his best team.

**** like this drives me crazy
It's OBVIOUS TO US ALL (even Thibs defenders) you're all GASSED in 4th qs of the last 2 games. I'm sure even if they get a torn penis from running non stop they'd still defend Thibs for reason out of **** up misplaced loyalty, which reminds me of how Warriors players esp Curry defended Mark Jackson and didn't want him fired... but when Kerr replaced him it took time but the players bought in and they won a championship.
4:57 - "so there's a substantial gap in workload between OKC starting lineup and the Knicks starting lineup... as a result, all of these effort and fatigue related battles started to go towards OKC in that 4th quarter.

Thibs is an instant floor raiser for any team he coaches, unfortunately the ceiling isn't that far off from the floor.

It’s always crazy how the coaches don’t see what’s happening right in front of their faces.

What did that team win? Maybe he should read a different book.

Derrick Rose night is the GOAT excuse for deluded Thibs/CAA apologists.

Made it twice to the WCF
'07 team was the one derailed by the one game suspensions to Stoudemire and Diaw
An ECF appearance would be an improvement from two straight Semis appearances for Thibs
I don't know if Thibs cares more about keeping his job than winning a championship. He already has a ring as an assistant coach.
Since 1989, the only three NBA seasons that Thibs has been without a job have been 1991-92, 2015-16, and 2019-20
That's over 35 years of his life

It waa more a dig at Thibs for running players into the ground for NO reason. They didn't win a ring so, oh well.

Re: PG: Bulls On Parade
the proof will probably be in the pudding soon enough. Lets see the team condition in march/april and hopefully the team is healthy and not fatigued to the bones.
Josh says they are not supposed to be tired yet since its just half szn
KAT says he would be lying if he says he isnt tired (so he is tired)
which one is telling the truth?
