He's willing to throw his own reputation in the garbage to defend Thibs, pretty sad to see. Anyone watching that game could see he got outcoached, they were without 3 starters and he's still copping pleas for Tom. Just embarrassing.

Wait, what happened to we have a good bench and net rating and just need starters to get rest while they lock up other teams? Now you back pedaling on your own statements and running away. Now our rookies are the saviors? Lmaooo

The bench didn't lose the game dude. The starters should have smoked these bums and the bench would only need to not blow s 15+ point lead.

Dumbass thibs just said in his presser that we were low energy
Why are we low energy you orc? Gee lets think about how the minutes have piled up

disagree...there have been some concerning trends even during our win streak. We haven't been hitting 3's for a minute now. OG looks like a shell of himself. Brunson 3 ball in the last couple weeks has completely went in the ****.

Thibs even just said we played a low energy game. Why are we playing a low energy game...maybe 3 games in 4 nights with very limited rotations?

Your feelings and assessments couldn’t be clearer

Yeah its pretty frustrating watching when there is a clear and obvious issue.

low energy

doesn't even attempt to throw in a rookie or young guy that can maybe spark the team. Instead 40 minute around for our low energy guys

can't make it up.

Some of you have such tunnel vision about one thing, you can’t have a nuanced discussion about other problems. Reminds me of one issue voters.

While Thibs needs to utilize the bench better, the Knicks have one of healthiest teams in the league. We have issues beyond minute totals

Butch718 wrote:I don’t want to be the typical annoying Knick fan with the sky is falling takes, but the terrible second halves in the Okc and Chi game, along with being completely outplayed by an injury depleted Magic team coming off a back to back is concerning. Like it’s only January and these 3 losses have exposed this team’s glaring weaknesses.

At the moment, I don’t have faith in them winning against a team like the Hawks, let alone the Magic, Cavs and Celtics.

They also don’t have enough assets to acquire sufficient bench help. Even if they trade Mitch, that leaves them with a glaring hole at center come playoff time. We went all in with this starting lineup, which is good enough to win 50 games, but nowhere near good enough to beat Boston or Cleveland.

Talk about deflating. Reality hit hard. This team is not good enough as currently constructed to be a legit contender. Thibs wearing out his starters 3 months into the season, the bench is complete garbage, and I suspect injuries will derail the season at some point.

I agree with you but do think it could be "good enough" with the right coach.

The defensive scheme is stuck in the 90s and the offense is still too reliant on brunson doing everything.

Here's a novel idea, try something different, give the rookies a chance when a Two way player is on the floor. Why are you complaining about sims too? Your god is the reason why Sims is even playing tonight, since Tom left KAT in against the Bulls down 15 and he got injured, lets talk about that too. You want to criticize Sims, well then maybe the guy you're defending tooth and nail shouldn't have left his all-star C in the game when it was over. Sims playing is a direct result of the coach being an idiot

You sounding like DJ Hezidemiks right now and Tom is your Drake

KAT has already played in more games this year than all of the 2023 season. He’s played in more than half of games that he played in all of last season. NBA player who has been fighting injuries over the last few years is sitting out some games again because of some knee soreness, breaking news at 11!!!!!

But you deflecting again? We did try something different tonight, you just didn’t like the result because it doesn’t fit your narrative but reality is right there you just refuse to accept it. Maybe it’s not the coach that needs to try something different rather the President of basketball ops who needs to figure out what to do with 15 mil backup deadweight Center who still hasn’t played and also trying to get some actual rotation pieces in to bolster the bench. You can only pretend for so long but nights like tonight will expose things for what they really are.

He would be an obvious answer
Jay wright is a pipe dream
But theres a guy name Noah LaRoche who is the assistant coach of the grizzlies who has that offense humming because he is the architect of their unique offense which sets no picks, have a look at it, he’s a unique mind who has created the second greatest one season increase in total PPG for a team with the grizzlies this year. There are tons of other more modern minds out there other than this stupid coach we have

It’s just so crazy they don’t have Paolo, Franz, Suggs, Mo but still play 10 players tonight. We stay with 8 and have two guys over 40 mins. Thibs obviously will never change.

The bench talent is pure garbage. Healthy or not, tired or not, you cannot contend for a chip if you have the worst bench in the league.

Maybe on 2K. I don't think he makes it. Too many obvious glaring deficiencies in his coaching. The entire league knows it. That's why he's always voted the worst coach to play for.

HEZI wrote:Sims, Achiuwa and Shamet all getting over 20 minutes like we all wanted and providing the spark we all knew they would provide. Magnificent performance by our fresh and energized spark plugs. If only our starters played less we would have totally blown out the Magic tonight with our amazing depth. Really enjoyed their performance, more minutes coach

To be fair, I haven’t seen anyone say how great Sims is but our coach. Remember the only game Huk played meaningful mins and he showed us 10x what Sims showed us in 3 years and his reward was being back glued to the bench and Thibs getting irritated with questions about him??

c'mon the Heat and Bucks made the finals in recent years with way worse benches. It's the coach.

Most of it stems directly from Thibs
The bench is one thing
But he is the main reason for drop coverage, no switching earlier in the season,
No offensive creativity from the offense
The list goes on and on and he’s the direct cause of it
