HOU/CHI

Post#1 » by spankz141 » Tue Jan 7, 2025 6:08 pm

Houston In: Coby White

Chicago In: Jalen Green and 1st Rounder

Houston gets a SG that can play off-ball and create for himself.
Chicago picks up a 1st Rounder for a possible rebuild or a trade piece and take a chance on Green becoming an all-star player.

Not legal and no thanks to the premise, even without the pick.

Seems to be a July 1 trade restriction so bustolla

The Bulls would do it to get the first and have Green in place if they can trade Lavine. The Bulls would remain overloaded at guard with Giddey, Lavine, Green, Ball, Dosunmu, THT, the sitting Carter and Duarte

If I were speaking for HOU, they look ahead to decide, resign White or let him go and spend the savings from Green's $33M some other way, they have enough picks to drop one on the floor and not notice it's missing

Yeah, I think Houston declines this even without the pick thrown in.

But why does Houston decline without the pick, is White not objectively better in the same role right now? Making 12 mill this and next season?

I understand Jalen has “dat potential” but at some point he’s going to be valued for who he is, and how much he’s making.

As for Hou / Chi, a tire kick for expirings and a 2nd or two on Lonzo would be interesting.

I don’t think so. Jalen Green is a much better defender and can hold up in a switch heavy scheme.

The offensive value of White isn’t strong enough to overcome his defensive shortcomings.

And of course Green is the juicier prospect.

Houston fans probably rate Jalen higher than this.
