No that's not correct. They will literally flip the switch to Luka/Wemby/SGA/Ant and the NBA will be just as, if not more popular, than ever before.

You need to get hired by the league ASAP if you can manufacture star power

Thanks for the endorsement. Luckily for the NBA they know how to market the stars. I'll let you in on a secret. The NBA tells people who are superstars and who to follow. And you know what? We the public, maybe not the people here on RealGM as much as the majority of typical basketball followers, will, as it suggests, follow, what they say. This is how it works. Someone tell me different and show the results of that. We've always had superstars. It will never be we don't have superstars. And yes, you can manufacture a superstar if you like.

then why haven't they made a new big name star under 30 since it's so easy?
Rest in peace Kobe & Gianna

Look at music as a prime example. I’m from a very small area and know of a musician who I can only imagine found the good graces of the right person and now is pretty huge, regularly collaborating with others who are big, popular names in the industry. Their music is likable and fun, but I don’t see the person as significantly more talented than tons of people you see on contest shows, social, and even other locals. Seems like it came out of nowhere to the point where it feels very manufactured.

Same thing happens with celebrities. One day you’re the it person, next day they anoint someone else. It can absolutely happen for basketball too.

They just choose to make it all about Lebron, and Steph, and to a much lesser extent KD.

Got it. So Silver and his team of ace star creators haven't gotten around to manufacturing another big name superstar like KD / Curry / LeBron under 30 because ______________ ?
Rest in peace Kobe & Gianna

That makes zero sense. All 3 are really old and you want young players to market. Also none of their teams are contenders.

If the NBA could manufacture hype for Edwards, Luka, SGA, Giannis, Jokic....they would.

You know what you got this one champ. The NBA can turn the starpower switch anytime it wants. They just prefer to market 39 year olds
Rest in peace Kobe & Gianna

Today the Pelicans won because the most obvious goaltending was counted as a block with 1 second left in the game.

I am absolutely sure the game was 3 hours long, the last 5 minutes dragged forever (30 minutes of real time) but why check the decisive play, who cares...

What a joke.
Even a soccer referee would had to check the replay, and the soccer is the most obsolete and atrociously managed sport in the world.

Allow hand checking and physical defense and less foul calls. It'll push for more of a mid range and post game rather than spamming 3P shots.

Man, other than the all star game the NBA is a very good place. And even with that most leagues are struggling to make their respective all star games relevant. But the NBA is fine. Everything indicates that is the case. This thread is kinda annoying.
