Re: Warriors Have a Joe Lacob Problem
Owners have very little to do with dynasties. They just have to pay the bills and not get in the way. For the most part Lacob has paid the bills (except for this year), but recently he's been more involved, kids with prominent roles in the front office, in the draft room, speaking on players and draft picks. It can be true that he was a good owner before and is turning into a worse owner than when he first started. Lacob can be a problem currently even though he wasn't one before. He hasn't devolved into Cohan, but we'll see how he is after 20 years of being in the cellar. Just because you're not the worst owner doesn't mean you can't be causing issues.
Let's look at the past dynasties that were the model of excellence since the 90s.
Patriots - absolutely crumbling since Brady left
Chiefs - let's see what they do once Mahomes is gone (they were terrible before)
Lakers - terrible after Kobe (they couldn't even get LMA to meet with them in FA), got Lebron but we'll see how it goes after Lebron.
Warriors - we'll see once Curry retires.
Bulls - terrible after MJ
Cowboys - laughing stock since Aikman, Smith, Irvin

Re: Warriors Have a Joe Lacob Problem
question for anyone who defends lacob
can you name one "good" FO who had 3 lottery picks across back to back drafts both loaded with talent, and all they got out of all of that is a 6th man?
can you name one "good" FO with a drafting stretch this disastrous?
genuine question. give me a legit answer and I"ll happily eat crow.

Will you forgive hm for BRING JERRY WEST onboard?
And btw, he IS better than you, or me lol. He's uber successful and turned the laughing stock of the NBA into its elite franchise.

"Warriors Have a Joe Lacob Problem"
No, we have a subset of fans who apparently are too new to the team to know what a good and bad owner is problem. Lacob isn't the GM, he's the owner. And he's a damn good owner. No, I'm not Joe Lacob lol I just have appreciation for the guy that brought this laughing stock of a franchise at one time, 4 freakin rings and a dynasty.

The Warriors drafting had been crap between the time Logo left and MJD came on board... but Lacob is not making the draft picks?

Last 3 lottery picks --
2020 - Selected James Wiseman with the 2nd overall pick
2021 - Selected Jonathan Kuminga with the 7th overall pick
2021 - Selected Moses Moody with the 14th overall pick
The Warriors drafted for need, so who are all these amazing picks in 2020 and 2021, sans Alperen Åžengun that they passed on?
2020
Lamelo Ball - PG
Haliburton - PG
Tyrese Maxey - PG
Desmond Mane - SG
2021
Franz Wagner was drafted #8 but plays PF, everyone else after that except Sengun, is mediocre or sucks...and Kuminga still is a decent prospect.
Were they supposed to start two PG's and trade Klay or Draymond in 2020 or 2021?

Re: Warriors Have a Joe Lacob Problem
Joey has been great, bottom line he wants to win now and especially more in the future. He wants to compete with Celtics and Lakers in terms of banners, however he doesn't own the team all by himself. I am sure the other owners want to be profitable and thus the call to cut on Lux tax. Also he says most decisions they make is based on everyone being on the same page.
The new CBA is very restrictive and whatever they do now they have to keep flexibility, they **** up by hard capping themselves this season but they were caught up by the CBA, maybe it's the guy that does the CBa stuff that is dumb and is not able to do great manoeuvres. I hear he is from the Pistons.

are you high? why would you draft for fit with a #2 overall pick? do you realize you can trade star picks?
you gave lacob credit for drafting steph so at this point i'm going to stop engaging.... just atrocious takes

lol did you read the words? They are practicing exactly what they are preaching. Which is why I’ve personally lost interest despite Steph still being around.
Steph should do himself a favor if he really wants another ring and ask out.

Do you, idc what you do. Already said I got my dates mixed up but you couldn't address any other thing because you have no argument. You not liking Lacob just shows you're entitled af. Just another unappreciative / misguided Warrior fan with bad takes / understanding of bball. Overall, Lacob has been a GREAT owner.
If your take was "trade the pick" then you should've said that, but you said it like you were upset they passed on other PG's. You're not looking at the big picture. If you judge Lacob's entire tenure, he's been an amazing owner, drafts included. And btw if you don't like some of those picks, blame Bob Meyers... is Meyers trash too? I would say the biggest mistake he's made is hiring Dumbleavy. We would've had better players by now. I'm not gonna give too much weight to the draft because Kuminga was a good pick for the #7 spot and Wiseman was a solid prospect but injury prone. You act like Lacob has had a terrible track record and that is simply delusional.

that's not mixing up random irrelevant dates. nobody else on this forum would make such a dumb mistake because we've actually watched this team the whole time whereas you clearly started bandwaggoning in 2015
just stop embarassing yourself dumbass lmao

"Bruuuuuh" no one cares about your worthless azz opinion and all you can do is cherry pick things without addressing key points. Sad. Ik more about this team AND BASKETBALL than you ever will. You're a bum on a lazyboy talking about things you know nothing about and who can't even hit a layup irl lmao
The fact that you think I'm someone to point out, proves you have low basketball iq
