Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions
Per Jake Fischer:
“We can likewise confirm the messaging that Memphis, as first reported Tuesday by Chris Haynes, and Milwaukee, according to league sources, are teams that Butler's camp has discouraged from trading for him.”
Like others are saying about how the Dame situation played out, this probably doesn’t mean much for the moment. If Phoenix can’t make it work and Jimmy still wants to leave, he’ll have to settle if he wants out.

Khris as Joe Ingles is not a bad thing as a basketball fan. But if you look at basketball as a business, he's just too expensive for that role.
If guarding consistently is the barometer, is it going to be weird with both Midds and Dame coming off the bench?
Hey, that strawman needling might work with the Real GM experts on this forum, but as the world's most informed casual, I'm not falling for it.

PHX gets JButt, Bucks get Durant, Heat get whatever.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions
As interesting as the theory of Butler sounds, I have zero interest in adding another guy that is 34+ to this roster. I don't know who we target, but there has to be some move out there that allows us to play Midds more as a small ball 4, and more GA at C lineups. That is how we are going to win in the playoffs. We just have way too much lack of foot speed to overcome when Dame, Midds, Portis, and Lopez are 4 of your top 7. Going smaller makes us better at both ends of the floor outside of maybe two matchups that Lopez helps us in.

And him and his agent would immediately retract that if we told them we'd offer the extension lol. It really is that simple. Phoenix has no realistic avenue to trade for him, so it all entirely depends on how much of a toxic situation Riley is willing to stomach. Both sides are gonna have to settle for less than what they want.

Khris' demotion and Jimmy rumors is definitely cause to wonder what else we'd trade a Middleton-based package for.
The Wolves (19-17) are a team I've been thinking about on that front.
Jaden McDaniels or NAW seem like they'd be great here if at all possible to swing.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions
Any trade or buyout is not going to be a big splash this season. This is, essentially, the team we're rolling with for better or worse. They need to find a way to go on 1-2 more 13-3 runs to finish out the season and carry over some momentum into the playoffs.
I reserve the right to be wrong as I'm generally not a fan of making predictions.

Yeah I'm hoping Jimmy's mostly throwing sand in the gears because the Suns would pay him another $50-100M than the Bucks and everyone else is willing to pay.
I also just can't see any team taking Beal's contract on much less sending value out for that monstrosity.
Think Phoenix could be desperately flailing to try and avoid having to trade KD and/or Booker.

I don't think that indicates anything trade related. It's just wiser for our rotation
That would be perfect.
Giannis and Dame demand alot of FG attempts. There are not enough left for Khris. if Khris gets alot FGAs then Dame loses his rhythm... Khris scoring 20 of the bench would serve us better. Our two top 75 can rest and not rushed into games when our bench cant score to save their lives.
Eventually Brook needs to be benched too. Start Portis and give Tyler Smith some minutes as a starter. I remember Jason Kidd started Johnny O Bryant with green light to score as many points possible within the 1 quarter. I remember it working... Johnny would usually score 8 for us and then Kidd would keep him in the bench cause he already got the best out of him. Something similar needs to happen with Tyler Smith. The kid has some tools we need check them out.

Do we have confirmation that Jimmy "hates" Milwaukee? I mean, didn't he star at Marquette? I assume he knows the city fairly well. I would also assume he would enjoy playing with Dame/Giannis, especially if the Bucks were open to an extension with him.
A few years ago on the Bill Simmons podcast, Jimmy said it in so many words his thoughts about Milwaukee.

Not following MN super close to know exactly why they're having issues. The KAT trade seems to be a cost saving move so if they want to do something similar giving us McDaniels contract for KM's short contract would apply to. But, if MN is trying to make a move to improve and win now with I'm not sure I see why they'd want KM.
A name that inevitably will come up matching us with MN is Randle though. I know many here just crap on him, and I'm not in tune with how he's done this year, but a Mid/Randle swap would likely improve us right now. It would essentially force their hand to Giannis at 5 lineups. Then have Brook or Portis tradeable for some kind of wing help. Essentially becomes KM/BRook for Randle/wing swap. This should help the athleticism/youth angle a lot. And in that it forces us to finally embrace Giannis at 5.
In theory, Randle as the 4 next to Giannis 5 is the type of guy you'd want due to his thickness and rebounding ability. Issue comes in that Randle is a FA and if someone gives him a big raise I'd want nothing to do with it, at the 25-30 mil area he's been on this contract he's fine, if he gets a classic NBA overpay then he's not.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions
I’m pretty confident Jimmy will play for whoever trades for him, it’s just all about securing the bag.
All these other big name big money guys kinda suck. No to Beal, no to Ingram, no to Randle, no to LaVine. I’m mostly interested in Jimmy since he’s a playoff riser who is a dawg defensively, doesn’t work for me otherwise. Randle would clog up the paint and not play defense which is the issue they have with him in Minnesota, we don’t need or want a slightly rich man’s Bobby Portis.
If not Jimmy then I circle back to wanting to move Dame for cap relief, picks, young players.
I not looking forward to inevitably getting our ass kicked in the playoffs again. Team is not good enough as it is and the team needs a defensive focus to be a contender going forward.

Any comments more recently about what Jimmy really thinks about Milwaukee?
Otherwise seems like he was pretty emphatic on Bill Simmons’ pod circa June 2016:

Check out the latest podcast from Bill Simmons featuring Jimmy Butler - and, germane to us here, including several Marquette and Milwaukee mentions. In fact, Butler says several times "I love Milwaukee," citing his days and degree at Marquette.

Everyone on this board has a different role. Here you’re doing a great job of being the velvet hammer for a bunch of guys to recognize that we’ve now got prime Joe Ingles on our roster.
Granted, he’s Bucks royalty Joe Ingles. But he’s Joe Ingles. And that pretty much sinks our title chances unless some miracle happens.

I want nothing to do with Jimmy Butler and nothing to do with what we would have to give to get the opportunity to overpay his old ass. Come on folks this is a bad idea.

I think replacing Midds + Bobby with Jimmy gives us a better chance of winning the title this year.

Since when was Joe Ingles excelling as a mid-range and out scorer? Granted, each came from checkered backgrounds (Detroit, Australia (sp?)) and both are aged and vibrating at lower frequencies, but really? Was Joe Ingles (sp?) ever counted on for shouldering the offensive load? Was he ever the fulcrum for years-long dissension on real gm dot com slash bucks slash forum?
Why are we comparing Joe Ingles and Khris Middleton and not Damion (sp) Lilliard and Monte Ellis? That right there could lead to some HQ posting.

I'm not gonna tell anybody that's convinced it's a terrible idea to trade for Jimmy that they're wrong, but you can't then tell me that either staying the course or just some Bobby/Pat/Marjon for a younger rotation guy margins move is the answer anymore. This team is on pace to not even have home court in the 1st round of the playoffs. This team is by all metrics the definition of mediocrity. That shouldn't be an acceptable status quo when you have this version of Giannis.

What about Orlando? They need more offense and have enough defense in their core to make up for Khris lacking on that end.
Some combination of Isaac, Wendell Carter, and Cole Anthony?
