Yo, I'm sure some of you have been wondering why eve has been mia (she said it was cool to pass it along) she had tragedy happen to a family member this holidays. She said she'll be back when she can. Life's hard.
I'm sure a dm, prayer, or just sending her some love into the universe(Im never beating the hippy allegations), or whatever it is you do might help. She makes this place and being a knicks fan better.

Sending good vibes her way. Sorry to hear this. She really is a key ingredient to enjoying this place.

TBH I really do hope Thibs quit with the shortsighted, stubbornness BS. He get in his own way to the point it's sad.
For a man that dedicated his entire life to basketball, no wife.. no kids, and to have only been out the second round once and hated by two fanbases (CHI and Minny) really sucks. Right now the Knicks is Last Chance U for him.. remember he was out of the NBA, if it weren't for Leon his coaching career probably would've been over. So if he can succeed here, it will make all his sacrifices worthwhile. But right now, history is not looking to favorable for him and I hate that for someone with so much passion.

Eve is actually missed, creativity has gone into the dumps without her.

Love his passion and even his personality but, his methods anger me. His habits anger me. His refusal to adapt annoys me. I would love him to succeed here to the point where his flaws get ignored because he won a championship but, his flaws are what make me think he will never win a championship. Hope he can prove me wrong. If he can't, I hope we don't waste the prime years of this core letting him try.

I still can't believe we hit on a solid player 2 way player in Grimes late in the first, made him untouchable for a young star entering his prime, Mitchell and then threw him away for a 35 year old Bogey after a few months of underperforming. He is essentially matching Mikal's performance this year per 100 possessions. They could have just held onto Fournier for a few more months and made the same offer to Brooklyn if they wanted Mikal that desperately.
The depth would look a lot better with him on the roster right now but i'm not sure Thibs would have had the patience with him to let him play through his struggles with having a quick hook. He looks so much more comfortable and confident after a slow start this year. I wonder how much of that is just the difference between being a young player under Thibs versus Kidd.

There seemed to be a disconnect between him and Thibs at the end. Imagine not making that trade and using guano for Mikal. Damn.
Brunson/Payne
Mikal/Deuce
Hart/Grimes
OG/Precious
KAT/Mitch
I would still wanna upgrade Payne but, that would be a solid team IMO. Oh well.

Do you think Denver would entertain the possibility of a Brunson-Westbrook swap?

Realistically, the core of this Knicks team can be held together for 4 years - this season and the 3 that follow.
Tom Thibodeau is finishing up his initial contract this season, and has a shiny new extension in place from one of his closest friends for the 3 that follow.

It's kinda tough because it's the way he coaches and it's how he succeeds, and a lot of the time, it's the team's same mindset. Thibs has the underdog mentality and he tries to coach the same way Josh Hart grabs rebounds. Sometimes it really works. He's had some impressive victories in the playoffs.
However, this is where he has to grow. He can't do to the Knicks what he did to Derrick Rose.

cost. TJ after a pro-rate threshold might be a similar solution for bench wing punch.
and while he's killing in the G, i'd set reasonable expectations for his output should we sign him. there's probably a reason (health related?) why he's in the situation he's in.
that said, i think he wants to latch on with the knicks. he has made some money already. so maybe he's not just looking for any job.
I think it's easier than that. No one would take a flier on his being actually fit to play before seeing the evidence. The Knicks did the next best thing and I think he's essentially been promised the Feb 24 (or w/e) signing slot if he can stay fit until then and prove in the G-league he's still a force - which he has.
