A lot of the rumors now are from fans. PG is likely low on the front office's wish list. Since Gary hasn't been able to play, I could see them trading for a backup SG and a 3rd center.

Gary Harris and 2 seconds for Konchar. Memphis could use Harris' expiring plus picks to get forward depth. They may look on waivers for another big.

Look, did PBO Weltman call Sacramento to ask about the availability of Fox? Of course the answer is yes. But he also called the other 28 teams asking about all their players. The managers are in constant, weekly (some daily) contact vibing out trade ideas.

Does that mean that Orlando ever planned on trading for Fox? Almost certainly no. The idea for Fox would have been a Sac conversation to Fox-agent (hypothetically what do you think about XXX), and then the agent "leaks" that to the press.

That is just how these things go.

Let's flip this around. How many teams have called Orlando to ask about F-Wagner's availability? The answer is of course "all 29".

You dont have a source for basically everything you said here. But we do have a source that says that the Magic are considering trying to trade for Fox.

You have made inferences based on what seems to make sense based on what we know experientially from our dealings in business or whatever but the only thing we know for sure is this stated rumor.

I personally don't think it makes sense to think that other would waste their time asking us about Franz Wagner, but I think the idea that we reached out about Fox does make sense considering the Kings are 12th in the West and we don't really have a good starting point guard.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

If we were looking for a PG.

Reportedly, the Magic are willing to offer a package that includes
Cole Anthony
Anthony Black
Tristan Da Silva
Cory Joseph
2025 DEN first-round pick (protected 1-5 through 2027)
2026 ORL first-round pick (unprotected)
2028 ORL first-round pick (unprotected)

This is a package for Luka or Antony Edwards not a 3rd tier star like Fox.

I agree it's too rich...but I'd say "second tier". I don't think both TdS AND Black go out (I'd expect to sub Jett for one or the other) and I'd want at least some catastrophic protection on the picks - say Top 3. I also think Isaac could be a part of it, given SAC's lack of a frontcourt defender to balance Sabonis at C. Also, Isaac's deal descends so steeply that it also offers substantial salary savings.

Fox might be past his prime (on the way to being like KCP, and if he gets the max then like Shawn Kemp) and not much better than Cole Anthony.
He doesn’t get great assists or shoot great.
He shoots 20 shots a night on a crappy team that many forget even exists.
Maybe I’m wrong though.

27 now is past their prime? and has never been an assist focused PG, he is a scoring PG. now we can debate whether anyone is worth the giant contracts thrown around nowadays, but he is absolutely better than Cole Anthony.

I'd do it no problem. Black will never be as good as Fox. TDS is 23 years old. Denver pick is in the 20s, and we'd still have our own pick in the 2025 draft.

I dont think Fox is getting traded this season though, and they should keep him TBH. They can still make the play offs.

Firing the Coach and going on a 5 game winning streak can do a lot to quiet things

Also, 6.2 assists per game is nothing to sneeze at...especially when you've got a C collecting 6.3 assists and you're putting up 26.7 ppg!!

If that's the price, I pay it no question as long as Fox agrees to an extension Sure, AB has made great progress this year and TDS has been even better than expected, but having Suggs, Fox, Paolo and Franz locked up means our picks are in the mid to late 20s. Fox is a big time shot maker. I could see them also being interested in Dell or Goga if they wait until the off-season. Based on this season, I'd rather trade Dell. The way I see it, we MIGHT have a team capable of eventually winning a championship right now;. You add Fox, and I KNOW we have a team capable of winning a championship.

I think it really depends on how much you value guys like Black and Da Silva and to me they just seem like typical rotation NBA players. The Magic can buy a pick down the road and we can fill the gaps with undrafted, G league guys who often end up as good NBA role players anyhow.
